I wish free to play games were not just traps basically, like everything was earn-able at the very least. Warframe might be the better example of this, but im sure its not perfect. But your right people come to free to play games because its free so they don't have to spend money. But lo and behold its a trap usually and so much content or whatever is locked behind paywalls.
Also it might have been jokingly said but no most people do not just NOT spend money is free to play or more predatory games with micro-transactions. I have been playing new world lately and pretty much half of players have bought into the game with its various micro and macro transactions. Half the people I see own a mount in the game which may not sound significant but you literally MUST buy their 30 dollar dlc to even have the option to buy mounts. You get a few free but I hardly every see people using them.
Whale don't help but its also partially people's faults. Unfortunately people will still fukn buy shit from companies even though it may be overpriced or whatever. And that's why we STILL see games riddled with nonsense like this. Big corporations or companies like sony or tencent have far too much power, the only thing at this point you can do is to stop buying from them but that prob won't happen. I like to hope the next pokemon game will flop because of palworld but it probably will not because people will still buy it.
Anywho im yappin, rant over

ROFLMAO! Tarkov crash bug.
CONTEXT: I've worked in IT for 30 years - mostly in troubleshooting (I'm the guy that gets the call when your IT department says it can't be fixed)
I pointed out nearly WAY back in the days of Diablo 1 - when random crashes started happening to PCs for no apparent reason. And throughout the years it's been an ongoing issue - I figured out - WAY BACK THEN - that is was an issue with audio drivers and certain hardware combinations (For example - if you had a Zoltrx Audio card and a modem that wasn't using the latest Z-Modem protocol in the firmware - you'd crash often. Swap either of those two and you'd be fine)
This has carried on for YEARS and YEARS - it usually presents in 1 of 2 ways - CTD or total lockup with the audio (BABABABABABAB) loop. I've never been able to isolate the issue because the sheer number of possible hardware / driver / OS combinations. But when it shows up I can usually eliminate it permanently from that system after observing a crash or two.
NOTE: Once the bug is found in software (any software) it can easily be replicated and weaponized. this isn't new. this is audio-driver developer equivalent of all the bugs that still exist in Bathesda games because they refuse to go back to zero and write from scratch.

Talking about the free goodies for having a PS account on Steam, on console we have the Playstation Stars app. Its a free rewards program sort of like the one Nintendo has, except its not included already in the Playstation store and its only visible if you have the PS app. Before October of last year, you would earn points from buying games, buying any PS sub, and doing the weekly/monthly challenges. Then in October it changed to only earning points with a active sub. And yes, I mean even buying games without a sub won't earn you points anymore. But in January, I saw that your PS Stars level (4 being max) would now be lowered if you don't buy 4 games and earn 128 rare category trophies or higher each year. What does PS Stars levels do you ask Nothing. Lol. Only level 4 gives the account user priority in a support contact with PS if there's a wait time.
I'll still use Stars because its free and I have used my points often to buy $5 PS cards but it gets more ridiculous as time goes on.

Call me a conspiracy nut, but the fact that these fan projects often get shut down when they're close to release, or at least pretty far along, is either the dev letting them do work that they can then steal for their own remaster (I know for a fact either sega or nintendo got caught using a third party emulator at one point) OR they get some sort of sick joy out of letting people put a ton of work into something then shitting on it. Oh and usually when I bring this up to people, they retort that it would be too much work to take down every project that gets announced. Capital L, Capital O, Capital L, NO. Sending a C&D takes very little time or effort. Call me what you want, but you can't deny it's messed up to wait until a project is almost done before taking it down.

Riot knew it was happening, they made it that way to incentivize players paying for content/skins. They're only looking into it because they got caught.
The GTA 4 mod got shut down because Rockstar doesn't want people modding GTA V. They even tried to make it nearly impossible to do. Because they think people will cheat them out of shark card sales.
The memes were fun and all, but it's long passed time to admit Crysis was an unoptimized buggy mess of code and that was the actual reason the game had insane requirements to even play on minimum and barely worked on anything. And the remasters are worse.

I know its slim but just a suggestion/ request from a long time fan. Maybe not for this video but the ones where you talk about 5 10 20 games, im sure its a bit more work but if you could put the game name in the timestamps too, it would help me and im sure others so much. Sometimes im watching and listening to what is being said about the game and i forget the name of it. It would be nice to be able to tap my screen and see the name next to number 1 5 10 ect instead of rewinding the video to remember the name. Thanks yall keep up the good work!

All those 5090 listings are all stock photos as well which means they don't even have them in hand. One even straight up says presale in the title lol. But I guess there's enough rich people out there willing to pay the convenience tax of having it now. I'm happily still using my 3090 and will most likely just buy a 4090 now that the prices will go down and be perfectly happy with that. I don't really play that many truly highly demanding games on PC and I still use my Xbox Series and PS5 a lot too.

The PSN requirement thing wasnt even that bad. Worse is that people are unable to buy their games that required PSN. Now they have removed PSN requirement but forgot to offer the game to the rest of the world. Ive got friends which were so happy hearing about their games coming to pc and in the end they were unable to purchase it. Sony needs to fix all these bad decisions that were made in the last year.

so when bad games release we say 'they should have done more, look at this or that, their last game looks way better' etc and when a team makes an amazing benchmark for graphics, small details etc we say 'oh you went over board'. wheres the line we should never be saying 'oh you went too far with a game, it should be applauded and things like AC Shadows derived into bankruptcy

I’m very surprised you don’t think it makes sense to spend money in free to play games, how do they pay for development Servers New content It’s a business model that allows players to dictate if a game is worthy of surviving, and also incentivizes develops to make things players want. I don’t like it for all games, but a live service game 100%

The trend of people thinking that just because a publisher shuts down a mod must be because they are doing it themselves is crazy. Rockstar / TakeTwo HATES GTA mods, always has! They will shut down anything half decent on old games. Sony is just keeping their opens open with Bloodborne incase they do something with it, which they never will.

You should have included the story about Nintendo's loosing a legal battle against a Costa Rican supermarket. The supermarket is called Super Mario but it didn't had anything to do with the video game. Super is a shorthand for supermarket in Spanish and Mario because that's the name of the owner.

I don't think the 60fps patch is going to come from Sony. I think they just don't want it out there that it's actually possible to do. Because then more customers will be demanding it from the start. There's literally no reason most games should be locked at 30fps anymore.
reply

I've read somewhere that the DMCA Sony issued against the 60 fps Bloodborne patch is in retaliation because the same guy was the one that started a campaign asking to censor Stellar Blade. I don't believe it at all but, oh well, was worth sharing, just in case /shrug

As a hardcore league of legends fan, I can say that it has hit a downhill ever since last year. The money grabbing has become extremely excessive starting with Fakers skin. Several hundred dollars for a skin makes me think of the Samsung fortnight galaxy skin

Well hell, just have it so that the kids are required to be off of games for 8 (or however long their school hours are) hours straight to do other things. Kids don't spend all day on games, but they also get the opportunity to just enjoy their games.
reply

Yeah games are good for u in moderation, okay playing 15 hours a day for a month is not good for ur health at all or we really forgetting the stories about people dying for playing hours on hours without tsking breaks huh! Come on, let's use our brain!

Yesssss finally PSN is out of the way!

Now they need to make games available in more regions again
[like it was for Spider man 1 and God of war]
And I will finally be able to give them my money for Ghost of Tsushima and God of war ragnarok!

a gta4 remaster would be trash because they haven't even fixed their pc port, they need to fix it first before they update the graphics and put a $100 price tag on it. also, gta trilogy was a disaster i dont want the characters to look all cartoony

Its been discovered that you can avoid Aerith from dying in FF7 on original hardware without gameshark or hacks meaning you can bring Aerith to the end of the game by skipping all the way to disc 3 from Midgar. Why the hell was it not mentioned
