They are pulling a PS3 and being arrogant. That Switch 2 Tour game is 100% a pack in freebie that is going to be charged and based on the other pricing, probably $50. $80 for a Mario Kart is crazy. The thought GTA would be the one to raise prices made sense a bit, not Mario Kart, especially with Donkey Kong staying at $70. It was also very sketchy that they hid the price until you went to the website.
They are doing nothing new. The only real update is the mouse, which showed nothing worthwhile, especially with no Mario Paint. That basketball thing is just terrible. The chatting stuff is something that should have happen a decade ago.
Most of what they showed is ports which, if installs are comparable to the other consoles, will only have a few games fit on the tiny hard drive.
The GameCube app is launching with only 3 games as if they can't put more of their own stuff on it. It is just to hold stuff back to try to drive excitement when they add more.
That said, a new 3D Donkey Kong makes it a day one purchase for me, like every console since I got a job besides the Xbox One, which I got about a year in. Is it dumb to support a company when they have a showing this bad Yes, but I easily have the money and companies being evil isn't going to change.

they did all that to the joycon but still didnt fix the thumb cramping thumbstick position.
also the switch getting crossplatform scares the hell out of me. i hope devs dont nerf graphics and make garbage just so the nintendo can play it and then launch that garbage version for everything else.
kinda like the old days when we would get garbage for the OG XB cuz they had to nerf the game to run on all consoles. hope that doesnt repeat.
also Nintendo needs to pick one, this new switch is too big to be a handheld and too underpowered to be a console.
I have an OLED i dont play because of this.
i dont take it anywhere cuz its too big, and i dont use it on the big screen because everything looks like trash on my 4K.
so i mainly just use it in the house during black outs lol.
if they dont wanna go the way of XB and Sega, then yeah they need to pick one. either go all in and start making consoles that can actually compete with Playstation and PC, or go the route of handheld and dominate that market, which if they partnered with android and iCrap to allow us access to play those games too then they could definitely corner that market.

Everyone talking about $90 USD physical switch games:
Misinformation alert: There is no source from Nintendo that says that Mario Kart World costs $90 for a physical copy
The screenshot being passed around that says that physical copies of Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza cost $10 more than their digital counterparts is not from an official Nintendo source.
Nintendo's official US pages for Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza state that the MSRP is $79. 99 and $69. 99 and make no mention of a physical copy being more expensive.

$450 plus $80 to $90 per physical game Yep, any hype I had for it has quickly vanished. I'll be giving it a miss and sticking with the PS5. I hardly ever even touch my Switch, and it just sits collecting dust. But the games for the Switch 2 got me quite hyped and ready to buy on day one, until I heard the pricea big no from me. I still haven't finished half of the original Switch exclusives, as it gathers dust. They will hold me up until I decide to get a Switch 2 in the next 35 years, if at all.

The ancient hardware and prehistoric services were barely acceptable because of nintendos charming and nostalgic IPs.
Now. not only are they releasing STILL old specs and early 2005s mic/screen share services, but now theyre actively spitting in our faces as consumers by artifically spiking game prices in hopes other devs will join and make themslves justified.
Last nintendo game i bought was smash ultimate and looks like itll stay the last nintendo product i buy.

That was one of the best Nintendo Presentations in ages, i'll just give 3 highlights, for me Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bonanza and Yakuza 0 were my highlights, i was hoping Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios would reveal Yakuza 0 for Switch 2 and they did, i'll be able to have that in portable mode, there's more highlights but honestly, i'd be here all day (i'm so excited and honestly, i don't think the price is bad with the upgraded hardware we're getting)

Will not be buying. They’re going to hurt the industry with their greed. Physical copies are more expensive, and don’t even contain the full game.
Dangerous precedents are being set by Nintendo. $80 is now what all developers will try because of this. Most games ain’t even worth $60 now. and physical copies hold no weight anymore they can just cut off servers or pull the game and boom it’s gone.
Sad day for gamers

I agree with all the disappointment in pricing, and generally hate how Nintendo approaches game prices, but all this outrage over the price and people saying speak with your wallet. You're kidding yourself if you think this system isn't going to sell out immediately. It's why Nintendo never drops prices. Why would they.
reply

cant believe they didn't go OLED, WHAT A HUGE MISS! AND $90 for games on a no data disk is wild. over all $450 for a console is not a bad price with the upgrade, just be prepared to spend alot on trying to play it. real ones know the steamdeck and rog ally x, wont have a game buying problem at $90 lol
reply

If we can't install steam the pricetag is absurd the OG switch was basically only useful for Zelda BOTW and TOTK I haven't picked mine up since I beat them their games never go on sale and now with the upped pricetag on software I find it hard to believe this will do the numbers they are hoping for
reply

Folks, for the sake of gaming and making gaming accessible to everyone, i don't think we should get the Nintendo switch 2. What they did to the industry is unacceptable. In an instant, they made it okay industry game prices to increase to $90 bucks for a physical game! We can't support this!

My buy conditions for the Switch 2 were ONE of the following:
A new Animal Crossing
A new Splatoon
Pokemon Johto
Pokemon gen 10
A port of either GTA IV or Jet Set Radio Future.
So, with no games of interest, I've no reason to go grab the console for quite a while.

Send prayers everybody. im in the hospital. it sucks, so much. When Falcon didn't mention the Silksong announcement, I facepalm'd so hard it caused internal hemorrhaging and spinal compromise. The pain meds aren't working and I think social services are being called
reply

Seems very disingenuous or out of touch to report on this without mentioning the price of the games. $80 and $90 Like bro what in the hell are they talking about. It completely made me decide to not get a switch 2 which sucks because I was honestly excited
reply

I don't play my Switch anywhere near the amount I should. Although I wont be getting one yet, I am looking forward to NS2 release as it does look like its a vast improvement over the excellent NS1. I'd like to see games like Breath of the Wild run on it.
reply

Thata a dumb argument. No the switch 2 doesn't need to be as powerful as a ps5, but the switch 2 was underpowered, even for it's time. The switch needs to be able to run its games well and not limit game devs as much as the switch 1 did.
reply

Don't care about the hype. It's going to be trash. Just like everything else Nintendo makes nowadays. Don't waste you money, especially since they are going to charge $90 for games. Boycotting is the only way to fight back against the greed.
reply

Those of us who live in Australia are cooked when it comes to prices of console and games. Digital games here already cost over 100 dollars on the PS5. Some PS5 games are at the 150 dollar mark. I can only imagine the Switch 2 pricing.
reply

This is the switch that should’ve came out in 2017 but that price tag is a no from me. Also ain’t no way you’re playing Elden Ring or Cyberpunk on it in 1080 or 4K and definitely not at 60fps. Switch 1 cured my Nintendo fomo anyway.
reply

Yeah forgpt to talk about how THIS THING IS NOT WORTH ITS PRICE TAG$$$$ NINTENDO CAN GO F THEMSELVES FOR THAT MUCH MONEY. I don't Care Hoe much The game is Good I ain't Paying the MUCH For Nintendo! Greedy Ass Hypocritical Bastards!
