Maybe I am crazy, but I think a lot of these first time studios that are NOT made up of a bunch of industry veterans are too ambitious. A game like E33 had a huge backing to it and the people who made it were not newbies and knew what they were doing, but we have seen time and time again these overly ambitious games being made by people with no experience and the game either never comes out or it is just complete dogwater. These first time studios need to get some experience under their belt before tackling these very difficult to make games.

As someone who lived through the 90s, Samson looks very 90s. I am interested in the game. Looks great.
I don't get the Crimson desert hype. To me it looks like Spider-Man mechanics in an mmorpg. I prefer me RPGs more traditional.
Ballard of Antara though. Now this looks interesting. I like the style, and you can actually see what's going on in combat, which is rare these days.
I hope it's real
Spectrum looks cool. I've been keeping an eye on this.
Phantom blade is 100% real and it looks like my kinda game

Bro WHAT engine is it that these companies are using to get that cyberpunk look to it Unreal FOR THE LOVE OF GOD if you HAVE to use it go 3rd person please im TIRED of looking at C shaped hands over the SAME HUD with the SAME RETICLES paired with terrible dialogue audio, just team up as 1 studio to actually develop the engine instead of a bunch of small studios dropping the same game just reskinned, we got cyberpunk 2077, cyberpunk 2030, cyberpunk Wild West edition, and cyberpunk Lincoln Clay stories.

I'm sick and tired of souls-like genre. Especially from less known or AA companies, because their gameplay is always clunky and janky. Those devs would easily capture higher market share by making their games more action-like i. e: God of War Ragnarok. I do hope this souls-like fever goes away asap, because there are so many interesting dark fantasy stories that could be told to bigger audience, rather than souls-like sweatlords with cheeto crust on their fingers.

Here is a big one for me: Black State.
It looks like a mix between MGS and Crysis. It is from a new developer, but we got a good amount of Alpha gameplay and it was featured in an Nvidia tech showcase, so I imagine Nvidia did their homework, made sure it is real, and is actively receiving their support. So that is probably a good sign.
Instinction is the other game, but I feel like it might be dead. We were suppose to see it a while ago.

I get kind of tired from the repetitive genre copying.
Oh, we have souls games with landscapes and a medieval fantastical world
And we have open world games cyberpunk inspired
Why cant it be a souls-like cyberpunk inspired world.
And a Open world medieval game. Why cant they try a Steampunk GTA, or a Medieval GTA with dragons.
Whats so hard to do about a Souls in a cyberpunk world

The moment he said there will be survival elements in Vernyhorn, my brain immediately stopped caring. I guess there is a huge amount of gamers who really love pressing a button to drink water and spend insane amounts of time looking at some uncooked steak so they don't spontaneously die. For me those mechanics and necessary game design around it really bring me nonjoynat all.

With all the previous AAA game makers like Ubisoft and EA being constant disappointments, there seems to be room for these new game studios become the next generation of premier game developers and publishers. Statistically some of these games will bomb but also some should be amazing and hopefully the new competition can drive better quality games

This looks like another game from a small team with no games under their belt
My guy in todays industry that means you should be more hyped not less because it means it's more likely to have passion and creativity put into it instead of regurgitated copy paste slop looking to milk every last cent from you as possible like 85% of modern AAA games

It's sad that nowadays, how the best tactic is to wait for others to buy the game, on hype or whatever reason. Just so you can wait to see if it was as expected. so not worth it, or a pleasant surprise.
Also if you should bother with it at all, now, or if it's a game best played when it comes to PS or something.

for crimson desert I can believe the size and the combat because that's the two best parts about BDO, the story though I'm expecting the absolute bare minimum of it at least being coherent so I can be surprised if it's actually a goated story but not be let down if its just passable

You know you're about to experience the worst driving mechanics ever when you hear Avalanche studios was involved. I really hope they have polished this aspect or that this new studio didn't hire the same guy that programed the driving mechanics in just cause or mad max games.

The Day Before, Mindseye and many in recent times have made me not to root for games which only show concept arts and game trailers.
Only when actual gameplay footage is out and tested by actual game media/ reviewers, then I will be excited.

6: 10, the point here is that integrating John wick style shooting is a complex gameplay mechanism which is too difficult to implement as shown in the video. Either it's just used as a quick time event or probably a part of cut scene.

I remember a ground swell of everyone that everyone knows wanting open world games.
The already old push against open world seems like an industry led cop-out for their failures. It's too hard, you guys are tired of this right

Im not gonna lie, i really cant be compelled to care if a protagonist looks generic or not. If they're the whitest of breads, its fine by me so long as theres room for them to endear themselves to the audience, one way or another

I find it difficult to get excited for Crimson Desert. It looks cool and all, but the Black Desert world and character cast was just too weird for me. I am not too big on jrpg's and anime, and it felt a bit too asian for my taste.

I never pre-order games or believe the hype before they are released. I won't buy a games until many months after they have been released just in case they are full of game breaking bugs. This is basic common sense.

Not a single one of these games like too good to be true. They all look like regular games that will be successful in their own rights.
Also: we want falcon. Stick to the Friday updates and let falcon narrate the rest.

just tried to watch the Project Retrograde trailer on Steam and couldn't get past the voice acting, or what is probably AI generated voices reading misspelled lines of dialogue. It lost me at what's your perpass
