This may be placebo effect but to me Omni man seems like he secretly and internally fears Fire God Liu Kang cus. Liu Kang is cannonically far far more powerful than Omni Man. Even if it is placebo effect. I think internally Omni man WOULD fear Fire God Liu Kang cus he can even retain his Titan powers and Turn Omni man into nothing but Space Spaghetti.
