Everyone is different. Some can learn everything without ever going to college. others use college as a starting point to learn what they want, and then go one to learn more on their own. There are certainly places to learn technique and the applications outside of a college setting, but learning in school is just more concentrated and focused on specifically one or a few skill sets.

perfect example for people claiming they need a certain camera but they dont really do, when you see the endresult and the production itself.
you literally just need a decent camera which can record in double the speed. the endresult speaks for itself, its a mediocre low budget musicvideo.

Saw the final video.
So much for a red camera. the luma key for the clouds is visible, the extra feathers too sharp and the extra slowmo in the guitar smash moment is skipy in frames.
Not that bad though but only the actual artist was fitting in and maybe everyone else didn't fit in.

It's pretty simple he wants those shots in slow motion so he films it with 60 frames per second and slows it down to 30 frames in after effects. So when he would lipsync to the normal version it would be way to slow.

Was it mentioned anywhere what the budget was for this? Just curious since he was doing what seemed like a million jobs (director of photography, camera operator, director, the list goes on and on)
reply

Both really. usually people just get their feet wet in whatever area in college/film school. and then they go on to learn whatever it is they're most passionate about on their own.
reply

Loved it! But i didn't quite get why the music was so fast. He said that it was to sync the lips and the song, how so? I hope it will be explained in the next episode!
reply

This seems not like a normal film shoot with lots of crew members etc. And sometimes it maybe isn't necessary, but I am although a bit curious about the final result.
reply

Yea. usually I could hate, but this time your last series of shows have been the dookie foot! Awesome directors project is a wonderful addition to Indy mogul.

This is fantastic! I'd love to know a few technical details. How fast did you make the track for filming? 200%? Thanks!
reply

This was amazing, I love the explanation and seeing the actual production is very fascinating. Thank you for the video!

hi i am wondering if you can make custom video clips for music videos or if you know anyone that can? thank you
reply

haha good ear. That was CoCa. I'm a huge fan. I think that was Iron Fist, an unreleased acoustic track.
