Full EVIL DEAD Q&A: Bruce Campbell, Fede Alvarez & Cast (World Premiere at SXSW Film Festival) Umair: hi again, once again to be continued on this debate with respect every one have their own point of view for movies and people do criticize when the movie is lack of something, for me remake was another teen slasher movie with no surprise elements which guys like us expected from it. on the other hand if it wasn't remake i would swallow this piece of crap without hesitation and forget about it. i really hope they come up with better script and heart pounding sequences

of course i know no one expects this movie to be pg 13 for small tiny weenie grown up kids. let me ask you the classic evil dead was rated? it was even banned from few countries for being too bloody n Gorey. they can show a woman cutting off her arm that was quiet graphic what about showing a bit more. damn this is where new directors do not understand never mind it has been done and i hope and really do sequel is better or like i said EVIL DEAD 4 that's all

1. there is going to be a squeal - Army of Darkness 2 (Evil Dead 4)
2. If your not going to like it, do it for the right reasons, not because of your over powering loyalty to the original!
3. If you hate the concept of this so much then why are you watching Q&A about it?
4. I am an Evil Dead fan, as well as many of my friends, and we are all incredibly pumped up to watch this remake.

They're not rumors, this is basically happening. Also, after these movies are made, there will be 3 different universes: The Evil Dead and The Evil Dead 2, the original Army of Darkness and Army of Darkness 2 and of course the new Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2. All three universes will come together in the seventh overall film (I wish them good luck with finding a title for that one.

R RATED Movies do rock as matter of fact same raimi approach would be much far better you got to agree on that. that guy can pull it off and i loved his work on dark man drag me to hell and spider man trilogy guy is genius Toby was good choice not the new skinny spidey who has to install a cartridge of webs every time he is in middle of an battle

as a EVIL DEAD FAN i would say this movie sucked badly. it was not even a bit close to the classic it wasn't even that Gorey or could give some scares. no wonder Bruce had to come up with heavy publicity stunts to promote this shit to earn some dimes. to be honest SAM RAIMI SHOULD MAKE EVIL DEAD 4 FOR GOD SAKE he is best and always will be

The 180-degree rule says you should draw a line through your scene, and the cameras should only be on one side of that line. Crossing the line can be disorienting for the audience, because everything is facing the opposite direction. But as Fede Alvarez points out, those are helpful guidelines, not rules to be boxed in by.

no. There is no Evil Dead 7. For one thing, there are 4 total movies now. 3 in the original trilogy and the new one. Technically they exist in different universes though arguments can be made that they are, in fact, the same. But i don't know where you are getting this nonsense. Stop trying to MAKE UP rumors.

i think it'd actually be kinda cool, i mean it's pretty much a reboot, at least it's scarier than most remakes or re-imaginings that we've gotten over the past decade, as long as Bruce is involved in it in any way, be it acting, producing or directing, i'm up for watching it
reply

I'll watch the sequel, as long as it's not with a fake Ash. The reasons I don't like the remake are completely valid, because they are my reasons - you're not obligated to agree with me. I watched the Q&A to see what Bruce said, until I found out he produced this thing.
reply

So disappointed that Bruce produced this. Why he thought Evil Dead fans would want a remake of the original WITHOUT the REAL Ash is so beyond me it's not even funny. Bruce is and always will be Ash. They should have made this a sequel, not a remake.

I'm glad they went with a straight up vicious horror film similar to the original for the first movie, but I am hoping that the ED2 remake reintroduces the humor and the kick-ass heroism of fighting back against the horror.

If you were to look up Basement dwelling geek you would see a picture of Harry Knowles.
I can't stand that guy.
Otherwise, this is awesome.
Harry looks like he is ready for a trip to the flea market.

Why are they knocking the first Evil Dead that movie was scary when I was young man! I remember having a tape recorder trying to create those voices by messing with the fast forward and rewind buttons.

Indy, is Fede really the director? I thought it was Sam Reimi. I may have been mistaken. Anyways, I'm really happy for Fede, I'm Argentine but I'm happy that an uruguayan fellow got his dream come true.
reply

This movie is not a continuation of the original Evil Dead. It is a remake/rebirth so stop whining that Bruce isn't in it. If he was, it would be a group of teens and. an old man? Doesn't make sense.
reply

That's just about how every filmmaker answered every creative question. Why did you make your film 40 minutes? Ever think of making it 90? No! I'm just trying to make a good film!
reply

I doubt they'll remake the second one. If anything it'll be a sequel to this year's remake. I really like Jane Levy's character and hope we get to see more of her.
