I have about four projects in mind, but I'm not sure if they meet the standards. The first is simple and I'm not sure if its even considered a project I'm trying to put myself through vocal school and was hoping to raise money in order to do so. The second is funds for a fine arts group that my sister and I are starting up. We are doing a lot with that, from putting on musicals, plays/dramas, and creating a bunch of other art forms, giving teens and young adults a place to express as well as nourish their creative talents. The funds would help to supply costumes, props, and other equipment needed. The third is to earn funds in order to purchase good animation equipment. I am an aspiring artist/writer/animator and hope to bring my productions to life, but without the resources I cannot bring those aspirations to life. And lastly, I am trying to put myself through colledge at Full Sail University (which is a school or the arts) so that I can get a proper education in the fields that I wish to pursue. Like I said, I'm not sure if those meet the proper standards, if not do you know of any good formats for those types of projects?

Kickstarter is just, platform for scammers nothing less nothing more. There are maybe some projects useful, but majority are just fake craps. Save your money and avoid kickstarter. If you browse old, unsuccessful projects, you will find why. Kickstarter never help you if the campaign goes to troubles. They will just tell you sorry, it is your business and your problems. Kickstarter will not even send you information about the campaign creator or company which cheated you. You sent your money, you're useless. That is my 4 year experience with KS - 2 of 6 projects were delivered and useful. ! Save your $$ and avoid kickstarter! And. if you go to it, never send money to company that will not share details about the team and the company, never send money to anonymous creators (ie. from china). -)

I have decided to start a gofundme for my neighbourhood. There is no water or electricity. No infrastructure. The road is realy bad. The only way to currently get their takes about 2hrs.
There is an additional short road to the project bus it has to be made. Incuding a small bridge over the stream.
It would be a great help to me and the community if we could get donations to fix the short road and install sollar panesl for electricity.
Can I manage this with kickstarter?

Thanks for the information. I'm trying to crowdfund to get money to get a new product on the market. I have no idea where to start other than my patent pending status and trademark. Do you have any good resources for starting this venture in the productworld and being successful at crowdfunding?

I'm going to use kickstarter in order to fund my next trip to. America. I want to blog about this experience considering I'm a blind man and it's the first time for me leaving the country. You think this is going to be an interesting idea, will people back me up on this?

Hey man, thanks for this. how is the tax set up for this? just income through the business or and you claim this gifted some how? or better yet < what was the tax you fell under? did you get to defer tax because its under $10k?

I am helping my company to do a Kickstarter project, as we are a Hong Kong company, we cannot launch in USA. If we launch from HK, region will be in HK, but we want to target USA, would that be an impact on the result?

Hi. great info! so basically the most important is, along with the product idea, the AUDIENCE. how hard or how expensive is get that? is is just the FB ads that are the cheapest and best way to get audience? Thanks!

Good stuff to know. The percentiles really helped make sense of it. The rewards are the main thing I have to look into. I'm also concerned about copyrighting a project, etc.

Kickstarter just lost me at losing money on failed campaign. That feels like a total waste of effort when as little as $100 can be used in my project to make it better.
