My dad got it for me, for New Year one year (sorry. I loved it and still do. Yes, the campaign is short and kinda lazy, especially with how Santa Claws replaces the boss Battlelord and is placed in most vanilla maps, and in numbers, at that! But still, i liked it. It's got atmosphere, and since I love winter, it hit home for me. Got Caribbean some time later, i think someone got it for me, for my b-day, but it would glitch out on my old computer in that theme-park level, and was such a bummer that the whole thing kinda ruined it for me. I did beat it years later, once i got a better computer, but, you know. Never had DC, but played it a couple of times. Fun, but a bit complex in certain areas.

this was the only one of the three duke nukem 3d expansion packs (of this, duke carribebean lifes a beach, and duke it out in D. C) that iv'e actually beatin. theres NO secret levels, and to me, the other two expansions are even MORE maze-like then nuclear winter is
(i beat it ont the megaton edition for PSVita and PS3, BTW, whic it and duke nukem XBLA are the only versions i have)

Duke 3D had the best multiplayer at the time and the first game, that was better then Duke in multiplayer was Unreal Tournament. I mean in regards of multiplayer, Duke smashed Doom in the face. So in my opinion, rating singleplayer in Duke Nukem is like rating singleplayer in Unreal Tournament: ) (Although Dukes singleplayer was actually quite better then UT singleplayer right? :)

Easily my least favorite part of this expansion was the fact that with the exception of the flying, Freezethrower-wielding snowman, none of the -new- enemies have any sound bytes beyond their weapons firing. That, combined with the designer's apparent love for teleporting enemies in behind you in some levels, led to a TON of frustrating cheap shots.

I have this with Megaton edition on Steam, and it's quite fun to play around Christmas time. The music adds to the absurdity of the whole game, and it has charm, but yeah I couldn't understand why they couldn't go for some kind of Christmas themed weaponry too, and it's quite lackluster, but I still enjoy it.

10 years later and that christmas music (that lgr opening intro) melts my icy burnt heart. Way more the actual holidays went on medical -poisen. -
Also I still picture that atomic edition holobox and feels me with confused feelings of what I was actually playing while in single digits.

Nice Review, it was a pretty okay addon, you're right about those first two levels, they are like Levels of the First Episode except, you are going backwards, but the rest of the levels are new and okay, now it's time to blow up some aliens and save christmas.

Playing original episodes via cheatcodes in this pack is an. interesting challenge, since the old Pig Cops are replaced by the Evil Santa bosses; you don't want to be killed by these roided-up bots but you don't want to kill them either since that ends the game.

If you ever find mods that improve greatly on Nuclear Winter, you should totally make a video on such mods. Not that I expect LGR to read this comment after 10 years or expect him to review fanmade mods but im not going to give up and go home on this suggestion.
