This game has so many bugs with vehicles not spawning after about 100k population. It can happen to players before that so no doubt its a mod conflict issue as its nothing to do with access as a lot of retarded people who try to defend this game will say in reaction. eg fires are burning wildly and i was sick of watching no fire trucks spawning sdo i deliberately surrounded the burning building with fire stations and none of them spawned out to put the fire out. Don't tell me this game doesn't have bugs you can read all about it in the forums. A lot of times you have to keep reloading to make these things work again like the simple interface of water pipes which disappear from the water view about 15 minutes into the game this also goes for traffic views as well I think these 2 views are affected more than others because the graphics card has to deal with gifs like water flowing through pipes and bus and metro vehicle moving directions rather than still pictures of pollution etc. The appeal of this game is sold on the premise of great mods you can add but many of them are no longer compatible and don't work like the first person view after the last updates because the modders give up on this game and don't bother syncing and updating their mods to the games updates. This made me stop playing i may go back to it if i find the transit network new mod they've been advertising for months actually fixes these bugs then i may return.

Wow! so many great additions! This seems awesome!
I hope there's better difficulty/challenge as well? Because before the only challenge whatsoever in the game was getting traffic right and/or getting all buildings to tier 3.
The only thing I see missing in this -which also contributes significantly to difficulty- is having events/disasters, such as riots, car crashes, droughts, recession, tornadoes, or water shortages.
I'm a bit surprised that so much content -or at least the day/night feature- was added in a free patch rather than expansion, but then again much of the stuff (not the day/night feature) could be added with mods.

Interesting, and a good review. Haven't been able to play with the patch yet (too many difficulties loading cities, but it looks promising. My only caveat here is that I think some of this content (ok, a lot of it, should have been in the base game. Also, I believe some of it (the bike lanes, the prisons, the bus lanes) should have been part of the patch, for the same reason. But its good that the patch they released is this significant, and they aren't trying to put up a paywall to the end user (unlike Paradox themselves, ironically. A big 3 cheers to Colossal Order, and a big hand clip to you sir for the great review!

I've rewatched all of your three -Cities Skylines & EP- reviews several times this week. I've been looking for a game to replace the void have from not playing any of EA's games anymore and luckily I stumbled across this review, after I tried it for a week I can happily I found the ONE! Finally one simulation game that doesn't annoy me at all, one I can play for hours and actually enjoy it, and want to come back for more. I agree with you, it's pretty much how Simcity (2013) is supposed to be. EA, you suck!

Do use that I found with the day night budget sliders is that for electricityduring the daytime you can actually turn down the electricity budgetbecause they don't need as much electricity during the daytime which was a tiny detail that I like and made me fall in love with the game just a little bit more but what sold a game to me is when I looked at an ambulance going towards building when came out they come out with a little tiny strretcher

+LGR Hi! Love your reviews since they are always very honest. So Thanks! Question: Is this considered an Expansion pack, and therefore I would need the 'Base Game'? I assumed it was until the 7: 15 mark, when you said I could download the -patches- and -not absolutely necessary-? Thanks for your anticipated help. :-)

God, whenever I see him play this I always see those gorgeous roads and beautiful districts. Meanwhile I don't have a single elevated road nor any ideas where to place them or how to fix the traffic problems on the numerous intersections I have. Any tips for a CS newbie who absolutely adores city building?

I just wish I wasn't as dumb as I am. My cities usually start off okay and I feel like I know what I'm doing for a while. Then suddenly I feel like a dumbass desperately trying to claw back roads and buildings to make everything work as everything falls apart.

The game and the add-on are true time wasters (in a good way. I've already sunk more than 50 hours in it, got my self involved with some awesome mods and yeap, created a nice looking European town with trams, trains and everything you'd expect. :)

I need to get my PC fixed so I can play this great game again!
That said, my main gripe with this EP was that the new district specializations were exclusively low- to mid-density (pls let me know if that has since changed)
