I know that feeling of listening to a game's awesome music. I recall playing the (unofficial) sequel to Final Doom's Plutonia Experiment, and when I got into the third level, the music just sounded so awesome I practically didn't care if I was doing well or not, I'd slaughter all the enemies in the way, pause the game, and just listen to the awesomeness that my MIDI Soundfont presented to me. Heck, I feel the same way about the Jazz Jackrabbit Holiday Hare Soundtrack, even though I only got a few minutes to listen to it over your speaking, but you get the point. Awesome soundtracks are awesome, MIDI format or not.

I like Jazz Jackrabbit series, although I have never played first part of the series. I have JJ2 and expansionpack Secret Files on my computer. Great games, but difficult because you have to be careful when you are on the highspeed.
I think Jazz Jackrabbit could be a great saturday morning cartoon. It's has a -cute- animal character WITH A GUN.

LGR great reviews, but to me it seems the speed of your jazz games is too high?
When I play them it seems to go like 10% slower or so, if i watch your videos and see you jumping arround from platforms etc it looks like you-ll never have enough time to even react.
I think somethings off.

Let's all just take a moment to stop and admire Robert Allen for creating the soundtrack. Especially his take on Carol of the Bells (Candion. Which just straight up sounds like what would happen if Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails decided, -let's make an instrumental cover of a Christmas song. -

what's going on.
in just the last minutes I've seen games that I used to own.
MDK 2, this, and a ton of others.
that makes me feel really old and I'm only 13.
I'm going nuts man, all my favorite old style games are coming back to me in dos and more.
ahhhhhhhhhhh!

-hitachi088 I record using several methods. Using DosBox for emulation, using S-video/composite output directly from certain PCs, or by converting the signal from VGA->S-video using a scanline converter and then using a PC capture device to get the footage.

I've played the original Jazz Jackrabbit, but I haven't played this one. I'm not a big fan of Christmas itself, but my God that rendition of the Christmas carol that plays all the way through the game is bloody cool.

Am I the only one who thinks that if LGR can keep up the kind of speech pattern he had when he said -On the PC for DOS- at about 0: 43, that he could produce a rap album?
LGR: Lazy Game Raps! I'd buy it.

I played JJ2 as a kid. Now I have every version of every JJ game.
You can also find me playing JJ2 online, mostly on The Server and Zeals.
Maybe I-ll see some of you, down trough the pit.

aaaah i remember the epic runs through jazz jackrabbit 2 in one go. the flamer was horrendously OP though. just used it to melt every boss in two seconds, making the first boss in the game the hardest.
