Gameplay and commentary on The Sims Makin' Magic, the final expansion pack for (and final LGR Plays video of) The Sims 1 Ultroman: -What's the problem with this game? -
Well, you're trying to make your sims do things with other sims, while 100% uncomfortable, 100% dirty and 99% exhausted. Then things don't work, because your sim doesn't follow up on anything, because their complaints get in the way. The biggest gripe I have with this game, is that the meters go down so quickly and sometimes for seemingly no reason. Why do they become uncomfortable whenever they're not sitting in something? And the social-meter. what if I just want to mess around in my house alone for a while? At least you can use a pet to raise it, but the pets are so annoying. It helps if you actually provide them with a bed and food, though, so they don't pester you for food and have a place to go that isn't where you are, while you are possibly sleeping. They should have setting for how the meters are affected. Just something simple, like multipliers for how much positive and negative influences affect each meter, and possibly some settings for the constant drains, like hunger.

I can't believe my eyes are wet because of a game i used to play when i was a little girl! Sooo much memories. How i loved The Sims 1 and it's simplicity, although in that time it looked to me like something magical, a unique game where i could enter a beautiful, new world and play for hours and hours. After The Sims 1 i've played the rest of the series, but that feeling of pure happiness only the first one had given to me. Thank you for bringing me back so great memories of my childhood! :)

17: 06 Yes, the sims needs going down too quickly is a major problem in both Sims 1 and 2 (and not in Sims 3, yet another reason why TS3 is superior to all of the other three The Sims games. LGR, do you know if and where there are mods (or cheats) for TS and TS2 that slow down Sim's needs decay (versus just freezing them? I'd like to play these old games again, but haven't due to the fast need decay. Thank you!

Boy I remembering loving the original Sims, but not it seems so primitive compared to even the Sims 2. I thought about wanting to play this game again on my computer, I'm over it now--I wonder if they'll ever perfect the 3D version of the original game. Actually I own the entire Sims 2 complete collection thing EA gave us, I'd rather give that another go than this.

My mother would give me all her old sims games for me to play on when she got the expansion packs, cause I used to watch her when she played and it bugged her. So I started playing Sims in second grade, and by the time MM came out I was in fourth grade, and so addicted. I remember recreating the whole cast of Halloweentown in one house.

I loved it when i hung some paintings on my wall not knowing about the -Tragic clown-
So i decided to cheer up my sim so the clown would go away, to bad he was in my home already, on my carpet.
Then my sim cheered up, sadly as soon as he cheered up, the clown burst into flames, almost burning my entire house to the ground.

One day, I plan to make a Sims-esque type of game, taking heavy inspiration from the best features of each sims game and the involved mods, while being a more all-in-one style of game rather than selling 20 expansions. Though it wouldnt be as serious as the Sims 1 Vanilla, but not as crazy as a fully DLC-ed later sims game.

I used play these games when I was really young, like 6 or 8. Makin' Magic has always been my favourite expansion pack of all the Sims games. So much of Makin' Magic was forgotten in the later Sim games and it's really sad. I'd love to see TS4 make some sort of Makin' Magic comeback! Eh, unlikely. Great video nonetheless.

This was perhaps my least favourite expansion pack for The Sims, but that's mostly due to the fact that I had uninstalled The Sims Complete Collection incorrectly and Makin' Magic just wouldn't leave my laptop =/ I also had already given The Sims away so I couldn't reinstall it and uninstall it correctly =/

One of my favorite additions to The Sims 3 is the ability to -sleep with- interact with pretty much ANYBODY, Townie and NPC alike, as apposed to the Sims1 where you couldn't even interact with half the NPCs and the ones you could only had one or two options depending on their function in the game.
