Yep, this is a wireless keyboard and mouse that works like you'd expect, but it's built using bamboo instead of various plastics! People send me messages about this thing every week it seems, haha. - This is the one I bought, but there are TONS more

I use this keyboard/mouse set now since about three years. I think it is nice if you dont like to touch plastic all day long - this is the main reason for me.
Pro:
+ no plastics on its surface
+ multimedia keys - I love them
+ the touch of used wood/bamboo is very nice after some time
+ nope, its no big deal to clean it. you can easily take out each key. btw: bamboo is more hygenic than plastics.
Contra:
- small mouse
- very loud keys
- keyboard layout which you have to get used to it. but after a while you-ll maybe like it
This chinese whitelabel keyboard is something you buy, if you like wood/bamboo or dislike plastics on you fingers. Or if you commit yourself to renewable raw materials. But you have to give up some conveniences if you want to use it. It is definitely not made for pro-gamers, pro-authors and other pros. So its really time for a v2 of the set, which provides at least a better mouse and a more comfortable layout. So, wheres the chinese (or elsewhere) spirit for innovation? Does the whole planet loves to pet plastics all day long!
BTW: UT GOTY 4 live - it was the first thing I tried as I received the keyboard set too! :D

I almost immediately replaced the OEM keyboard that came with my new HP desktop PC for a similar reason, because the keyboard layout had been so -shrunken- that my right pinkie finger could never find the insert and delete keys (kind of important for word processing. I'm currently using a combination of an old HP wireless full-size keyboard and a Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic mouse, but would like to replace them with a wireless full-size keyboard/full-size (but not necessarily ergonomic) mouse combo. I'm leaning towards a Logitech 520 or 530 combo like I have with my Lenovo desktop at home, but something similar from Microsoft would do, too. (I'm somewhat leery about talking the boss into spending office-equipment funds on an unknown quantity from some other manufacturer)

Today I was digging around and found my Thinkpad Tablet Folio Keyboard case. It attached to the tablet via a full-sized USB port, which means I can use it with any device with a USB port. /the other notable thing is that, where Thinkpads have the TrackPoint, this has what is an optical version of the same thing - it's like someone took the optical element out of a mouse and put it upside down in the middle of the keyboard.
It is a design that I wish had become more common (I am very sure Lenovo patented it. I wish I could have this little optical thing with this bamboo keyboard.
Ok. I'm going to go start my what I did for summer essay now.

reg the company that makes these: like with most other cheap Chinese brands on Amazon, when you dig through the seller information you usually end up with the same 2-3 companies in Shenzhen that sell stuff under dozens of brands. It's not clear if those companies are the ones who make the products, or merely sell them in the -west- for other companies, but either way just about anything (that's not the actual good products) ends up tracking back to the same few companies

Point of interest - Bamboo is considered healthy because it has naturally occurring antibacterial and anti-fungal properties, so the germs from your hands will be less likely to transfer to the keyboard and propagate. As for the quality of this -review- - I was disappointed by the snarky attitude and lack of actual typing demonstration. It would have been nice to hear more of the keyboard sound and less of the negative commentary. No offense, just my opinion.

I've bought a backlit low profile mechaniscal keyboard with detachable cable and whatnot for 65 dollars. Full key rollover and a normal layout except it is -missing- the num keys. That blows that bamboo shitty thingy right out of the water. That's a horrible designed keyboard, I would never be able to even hit the space bar key. Yuk. Put it on -oddware-: )

Because bamboo is so fast growing you need a far smaller area to grow it in then would need for wood. And it is a renewable substance. Bamboo can be grown in many places it does not naturally occur. And most bamboo in the world does not grow in the regions where pandas live. I can't vouch for the credentials of the reviewed articles though.

i; ve got these! found 'em in an obscure asian shop. mine does not have the branded name. I guess its made somewhere in shenzen and tehn different distributors will brand it to taste. prss and hold the black button on the underside of mouse to turn it off. took me a while to find that also, thought it was sync button.

It's actually environmental as it is reducing plastics and. bamboo is actually a weed of sorts. It can easily become invasive, grows really fast, and can be hard to control from what I've read. So not only is it more biodegradable, it's making use of and controlling bamboo growth.

Clint, please make a review video of mice for us guys such as yourself that have large manly hands. I have a terrible time finding mice and the only mouse I've found that fits my hand is the razer deathadder. Unfortunately it is notorious for having middle mouse button issues.
