An 8-bit computer game of exploding polar bears and killer penguins? Merry Christmas indeed, haha planet: LGR, Dr. Pepper needs to pay you royalties for all the unintentional product placement you do for them. -Any- time I see that intro I immediately get thirsty, ended up ordering pizza and a 2-liter because of it! :P
as for Icicle Works, looks like a neat little game. I'm going with the -the band Icicle Works was popular at the time so it was an easy way to get a smidge more publicity for the game- theory as to why it's called that.

I am much older than Clint but I cannot go earlier than the NES for games. Games like this just look like bum wash to me. And it comes on a tape. Tapes are terrible. They were terrible in the 70s when I first used them and they are terrible now. When the CD came out I was in heaven and when the MP3 player came it it was even better. Now people are getting into tapes again AND games like this. Bah humbug! -

These videos are so well put together and brilliantly presented. Must take huge amounts of time. Puts a smile on my face that so many of us grew up lucky enough to build and upgrade PCs. Weekends spent reinstalling Windows 95 for the 1000th time. Commander Keen, Wolf 3D. ahh, bliss. For me, it all started with the C64 and I had Icicle Works.

For some reason, this reminded me of an old Mac game called -Spacestation Pheta. - The developer's website is apparently still up and looks like something out of the 90's. I wonder if the registration form still works, it looks like it might.

So weird how I feel almost a sort of nostalgia watching that intro, which uses a midi (I'm guessing) that makes me also nostagic, yet it goes even further because the midi is of a classic Christmas song which is even more nostalgic.

Anyone remembers happyland adventures (or xmas edition, whatever thaat changed? I remember playing it on my IT lessons in the primary school.
That was quite a fun platformer I think, but it's hard to tell if that's still retro: )

There was some odd movie tie ins on the spectrum there was even a platoon game. I had but it didn-t work so to this day I have no idea what it was like but that was just all part of 80-s gaming things didn-t always work.

I have been searching trough your posted videos, and I can't find that you have reviewed Transport Tycoon Deluxe. Maybe you could take a look at it, and also maybe compare it to the still vibrant community for OpenTTD?

I know the game is hard to find now but you should try and do a blade runner review. That game is damn near impossible to play on modern PC's. For people who don't have access to older hardware it would be a treat.

My sense of nostalgia was peaked, so I just hunted down a copy of Boulder Dash for the C64 online. It was released by the same company, Staresoft, so I presume they just reused the engine for this game.
