If it's any consolation, I very much was part of the intended demographic of this software; I actually had one of these back in the day, but my computer was so awful that it would freeze if you tried to play ANY kind of software on it, so I never actually got to play with it beyond the basic magic 8 ball function. I'd totally forgotten it existed until I saw you had one and it's a nice bit of closure to see what I'd missed. So thank you for making this vid!

It totally amazes me, how this was. I was about to say top of the line stuff, but in reality, quirky nonsense, however, kids would totally drool over this back then.
Now, they have 10 000x more of this in their back pocket just a few clicks away.
I almost feel like oddware. Not not my memories and software, just me as a person.
But honestly, I can't wait to see what another 20 years in the future are gonna bring.

While I never had an interest in NSYNC and the gameplay of this looks. very shovelware, it seems like the target market of the day would probably enjoy this and there's a lot of charm to that period of the late 90s/early 2000s when you had all these weird toys with software and software with toys, they probably don't really hold up but there's just some charm to that trend

If this was available in the mid or late 90s instead of early 00s, I would've gone crazy for this. As a kid or a teen in that era, any new technology is super exciting. I remember being excited about tamagotchi. So to have a phone where Nsync members can 'call' or 'talk' to you in the era where cellphone is primitive and not widely used, that's damn exciting.

You just freaking unlocked a childhood memory just from the thumbnail alone! I never had this, but I had friends who did. This type of niche activity software is the stuff I would hover over when I was left on my own at the department store.
And on a fun, N SYNC related note, my teen crush was Lance Bass. Imagine my perplexity years later.

Another odd, creepy, yet satisfying old tech that I never encountered in my 42 years in the computer industry. My daughter was 6 when this came out. Thankfully she wasn't into Barney, boy bands, or a lot of that pre-teen/tween crap. She did love DOOM and Zoombinis (secretly, I liked Zoombinis too.

The phone is easily the most interesting part of this. I'd be so tempted to play around and try getting my own sound clips on there, that's just asking for some fun.

Now I want to see someone take the guts out of one of these phones and turn it into a real/working cell phone. Maybe a raspberry pi or just the innards of another phone modified just enough to fit neatly in the shell of this phone.

I love how this game was pulled from on top of a vintage Digital Research CP/M-86 Operating System. It's a nod to the valuable historical software around, but we're just going to ignore it for the next 13 minutes or so!

My cousin got it from a Scholastic Book Order in elementary school! She used to get lots of PC software in school, lot of stuff with NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, and other pop star were making licensed PC games!

Those small lunchboxes were EXTREMELY common in the 2000s. Soft-body lunchboxes were far cheaper by this point and I never saw anyone actually use the novelty lunchboxes for anything beyond crayons.
