When I was little I would often go to my friends house upstairs, as our fathers worked for same company so we lived in a quarter. He would show me and let me play browser game on his pc and also he had a broadband internet connection which was very uncommon at that time I have very fond memories of me playing these type of games at his house. And! His father was a God in a game called I. G. I, his father would rest his legs on the desk put the keyboard on his lap comfortably and play like a god.

Man those are tough times to look back on. Desperately scrambling through the webernets to find something even somewhat comparable to the commercial release games we actually wanted to be playing, but couldn't afford. Can throw on the rose colored glasses now, but there were some truly awful games released online/freemium, and some okay ones too.

my fav game from back in the day was probably some flight game where you flew a jet and had missions to do. I really dont remember the name but graphics wise it looked similar to star fox from snes but a tad better. clunky 3d graphics. For a flash game it was quiet impressive. played it on miniclips all the time in highschool

Anyone remember how to program actionscript? Man Flash websites were amazing - the Donnie Darko movie site and homestarrunner springs to mind. I feel like Steve jobs strongarmed them to end it. It was a great platform for someone to learn how to program. And learn animation! God to be 16 again,

Clint, you are a saviour. I was looking for a particular flash game, a western style dating sim game, with elements of car racing and some economic management. Been looking for this game since 2005, only 18 years of search. And found it on Flashpoint. Thank you, dwuud, Happy Holidays!

Newgrounds was the place to be it had all the fun games and some fun over the top games that went full gore. It's also the place where Alien homonid started and now it's a full blown game that even recently got another remake for pc and maybe consoles not sure about those.

Fancypants Adventure and Line Rider were THE flash games I would play the everliving crap out of whenever I could access a decently flash-capable computer.
That, Interactive Buddy, and some sort of Halo-themed flash game where you need to flip a warthog with grenades,

Only thing that sucks about Flashpoint is how difficult its existence can make trying to develop for it, because you end up running into problems and when you ask people about solutions, they just tell you to use Flashpoint, or they have no idea what you're talking about

Ohh, Macromedia Flash, I loved the animations in that era. In fact, I discovered South Park thanks to it, as well as Radiskull and Devil Doll, Salad Fingers, among others. I even came across a music video by Jim's Big Ego called Stress (an excellent song, by the way.

I remember the progressive nature of getting upgrades between levels being such a common trope in the good old flash games. So much, it's required for me to get into any type of game nowadays. Progression and upgrades is key for me to lose myself in games lol.

I adored Achievement Unlocked and the sequel. I thought they were so creative and fun. I think I maybe got all of the achievements in the first one. I still remember those games and it's been years. I would love to go back and play them again some time.

I m so glad you covered flash games! A mix of flash and shockwave memories for me - Taco Joe, Merlin s Revenge 2, Heli Attack 2, Onslaught 2 and that mars drilling game. Will check out Flashpoint for sure and drum up some memories. Thank you: )

Being in security you just Flashed all that PTSD back. I do not miss that crappy, bug ridden, vulnerable runtimes.
I did work on a web app demo in 2000 for a startup in Flash. Horrid days. We got the venture capital though so it worked.

Maybe I'm not understanding. you said playing it on emulators was still possibly dangerous. how is Flashpoint Archive different? Hell the fact you're using actual Flash versions, that seems less safe than emulator on the archive site?

Moorhuhn X-Mas/Crazy Chicken X-Mas should be a good game, not exactly unique for that series, but those were good games. I'm not sure if you've already covered the Moorhuhn/ Crazy Chicken games, they were huge back in the day.

I can t remember its name, but I used to love a Flash game where you raced space moon buggies on different planets with different levels of gravity against CPU vehicles. You could buy upgrades for your buggy, it was brilliant.

Nitrome was a hot spot for me back when. :P I even did a review or two on them. Kinda has some of that old, hard as hell, difficulty for some. I think they had a couple Christmas ones? Definitely had some winter themed ones.
