People don't realise that Prometheus was a masterpiece and breathed new life into the Alien franchise, I myself thought Prometheus was better then every Alien made. the depth of the story how they created Aliens and human beings was fascinating, Ridley was JUST about to take us to the engineers home world to explain how we were made and why they wanted to destroy humans when a HUGE back lash of nerds frustrated that Prometheus wasn't another alien shoot em up like Aliens 1-4 that Ridley Scott changed the whole script and gave us ANOTHER Covenant shoot em up which was bitterly disappointing. hopefully everyone has learned there lesson and lets Ridley carry out his films as he intended, the engineers are totally unique and awesome and I hope we get to see them more in the future. im just about done with Xenomorphs I mean they've been done to death.

That is why I don't watch a lot of movies because how business goes you are either getting the chopped version that the studio wanted to get more showings in and you have to wait to watch the better version on DVD and Blu Ray now. So they made a director's cut of Alien, showing more of the alien than the original cut, that should have gave you a hint of what they wanted to do with the prequels. I enjoyed all of the movies up to part 4 then it became an artsy visual style movie. I saw Sigourney Weaver in a movie from 1983, she was freaking gorgeous, before Ghostbusters came out. They need to use her face from the screen tests of Alien to do the scene of the last alien movie they do before the original.

Mother may be the same basic Starship OS like Win95. There is no reason to think that the Mother on the Nostromo and the Mother on the Covenant ever shared any memory or data. It seems pretty likely that the Covenant is never getting back to earth and David was being deceptive with his communications right at the end of the movie. So the Mother on the Nostromo would have no fore knowledge of the Xenomorph behaviour. WU does not even seem to know about the aliens in the original movie they just programmed there synthetic to look out some general thing rather then anything specific.

The truth is, there exists no other Alien movie that fans have been waiting for because, like most sequels based on old franchises, either you always making the same movie over again or you do something completely different. They tried to do the latter in Prometheus and they tried to do both in Covenant. I don't think it's possible. This franchise is too steeped in horror action tropes and sci-fi action mythology that it'll be impossible to recreate the same impact from the first two movies.

mu/th/ur being the same OS does not mean she should have seen it comming Would something that happened to my WinXP machine have anything to do with your WinXP machine? Same OS so it should have all the same info right?

Not only are the space jockey/ Engineers not alien (since we all share the same DNA, we are as alien as they are, but the xenomorph is another relative. So there's no aliens. Everything is homegrown. We're all one big dysfunctional family.
It's more a Frankenstein story now. Creations rebelling against creators.

It is weyland yutani Corp have learned means nothing her prime directive is to bring the xenomorph back regardless of risk to the crew. heck you could say that is why they constantly have 1 android on each ship that goes because they can do the exact same stuff humans do but they need the humans to get at least 1 fully grow solder or queen if they can.

Alien covenant is good if you disregard everything that came before it. But in the context of the other films, it's pretty convoluted and creates unnecessary inconsistencies and tension with established lore. The novelization of covenant is actually better in, at least, reducing some of the damage.
But it's a fun movie imo. Just disappointing to some fans of the series.

I loved it! I really liked Alien growing up and kinda forgot about it. So when prometheus came out I was excited. At first I didnt like it but turned to love it knowing it was a prequel. Covenant. although I would have liked to know about the engineers, it makes sense wgat David did. And the music in Covenant goes down as the creepiest tunes youll ever hear.
