I was so let down when Star Wars hit the theaters. I had been hearing about it for a year before it was released, you've never seen anything like it they said. The effects were really no better than Star Trek on TV and the story was an update of those old John Wayne hours operas. Went to the first one and that was it. Never saw any of the rest

I saw Star Wars (no episode or subtitle name yet) in 1977 in Indianapolis at the now gone Eastwood theater. It was probably the most amazing movie going experience I have ever had. Never have I seen a crowd of people with such enthusiasm and having so much fun. Good times!

I've seen a few documentaries on the first Star Wars film in 1977 and by god George Lucas had to really work at it. But I give him serious cudos for accomplishing it. He worked a miracle. A very inspiring miracle. One that others could try and emulate.

It's so ironic: fans PRAISE Lucas for his endless efforts to bring Star Wars to the big screen, and then decades later CONDEMN him for doing the same thing for a new generation of fans.

no one today is ever gonna know what Star Wars felt like to us kids back then. and its unlikely a film will ever achieve that again, tech has just caught up too much with imagination

Omg I want there to be an R rated Thundarr The Barbarian movie. However, I doubt Warner Brothers would give up the rights to it. So I'd be so happy if someone made something like it.
