These Are The Best Horror Movies Of 2018
video description
Hereditary - 6. 75/10 - Reasonably good - Some very effective sequences but its internal mythology is overly elaborate and ultimately not well-earned
Suspiria - 5. 75/10 - An adventurous piece of film-making worthy of respect but not my cup of tea. Well-acted, visually striking and viscerally confrontational but also over-long and weirdly and pointlessly intricate.
Overlord - 8. 5/10 - Tightly written, well worked blend of horror and war, apparently not a Cloverfield story - though who can really tell?

As a 30+ year horror fan I have to admit to being a snob of horror movie remakes & parts 2/3/4/5 etc. but the bar of new horror directors have been so excitingly high(Ex: Jordan peele. Ive seen the original Suspiria & Halloween of course but I may have to bite the bullet & check out their remakes/part?
Hereditary/Cargo/A Quiet Place were excellent movies! Ill have to check out the rest on the list. Its an exciting time in horror. Btw, horror is not just about jump scares & gore(those are cheap easy tricks. Its about imagination & the unexpected(now thats true horror)

Only 3 reasons I watched UPGRADE. The guy was HOT, the knife to the face scene, and I fukin love anything to do with A I. Also, another thing i thought of and i am not sure about this but, I saw in a YouTube video that they wanted Tom Hardy for this roll in UPGRADE. I'm glad Tom Hardy did not get this roll. Speaking of Tom Hardy, in the VENOM movie 2 things bugged me, his voice was freaking irritating, and I wanna know why he never took his shirt off.

Unfortunately these films are all mainstream crap for suburban soccer moms. Real horror lies within the Chilean film by Lucio A. Rojas called TRAUMA! Made in 2017, released by Artsploitation Films in June of 2018. This is highly disturbing material, and instills real terror as it should, no happy ending here folks. If Madny or Birdbox scared you in any way, stand clear of TRAUMA.

I loved Hereditary but my favourite horror movie of this decade is still Annihilation. It did not disappoint me. My favourite in the previous decade was The Mist. In the 90's it was Exorcist 3 (Legion, in the 80's and also my all time favourite was The Thing. In the 70's it was Dawn of the Dead, in the, 60's it may of been Night of the living dead or perhaps Rosemary's baby: )

Sorry but Halloween should not be on this list. well maybe if you consider it to be jaw-dropping bad, its an absolute shit movie that mainly consists of plot armor. not one original idea, scare tactic or plot point. absolute bore of a movie that will leave you more frustrated than grossed out, scared or entertained. Nothing in that movie works.

A quiet place is very suspenseful which i love, hereditary has great performances and very disturbing imagery, halloween is halloween, nothing new to see there but the final confrontation is midly entertaining to watch. I'm looking forward to suspiria, don't know anything about the rest.

You talk so much! None of these movies were as good at the horror movies we had in the early days. These movies are just one-time watch. I miss the classics exorcist, exorcism of Emily Rose, the ring, grudge, conjouring and many more that gave us nightmares. and sleepless nights

So basically no good horror movies in 2018 besides hereditary? Maybe The WW2 Zombies one? Seriously, all of the other ones on this list are boring as hell. And some of these, like a quiet place and the alternate universe one, are more Sci-Fi Thrillers than horror.

did Annihilation bombed at the box office or something? why do I keep hearing about it as if it is some kind of a Niche or obscure film nobody saw? when it came out it was all over TV ads and you could ask most people who were casual movies about it and they deff knew about it.
