No one knows what kind of a place Africa could've been in the greater scheme of things, what I do know is the movie itself did a great job at showing what Africa and the world can be if we pride ourselves and the cultures that make us this rich in diversity. I don't believe worlds should advance in silos, but I also don't believe that stronger nations should oppress the weaker. that shift of sharing of resources and advances because you can is what makes me appreciate the content of the film most.
Big ups to Marvel for representing South Africa with our Queen of Qgom: Babes Wodumo's
The long an short, I'm looking forward to the next instalment of Black Panther.

Wakanda: The official website describes Wakanda as a fictional East African nation in Black Panther Movie and the New York Times also wrote last week saying Black Panther is a Hollywood movie, and Wakanda is a fictional nation. The word Wakanda may be a new term created for the movie but there is a Wakanada like country in Africa. It is not fictional unless they want to plagiarize the facts and call it fictional, the story-line and the characters in the movie do happen to copy an existing country in East Africa: Ethiopia. Ethiopia is a nation in East Africa, which has never been colonized, it defeated colonial Italy in 1896 at the Battle of Adwa. Perhaps to make it a product of his own creativity, the producer places Wakanda as country located between Uganda and Kenya but Ethiopia is a bit far from Uganda and doesnt share borders.

Hundreds of years Hollywood makes movies depicting black people as uncivilized, 2nd class humans, hardly fit to carry a white mans bags. The cliche for years that went with the only black guy in the movie being the first one to get killed. Now they do a movie actually letting black people feature some top notch skill, and people can't help but throw dirt. Yes their has been many other movies like Blade and Spawn, but this one is a tad different. Can't even let a people have one moment of shine. That's ok though because the rest of the world is waking up to who we are. Hebrew Israelite, and direct descendants of the Tribes of Israel! You can have Hollywood. I'll take my rightful place instead.

If someone white is promoting the movie with such vigor, this further let's me know, the movie is a distraction. Black people are not from Africa. We are not African American. We are NATIVES. Take this movie and roll the credits up your YOU KNOW WHAT! Who cares about African fashion and culture? Africans hate black people and you know it.
Black people, I urge you to study your own heritage, you will be amazed to learn, our rich heritage is not that of African decent. The film maker is young, immature and unlearned about his own heritage! Sad!

Just know that this cultural pride they're talking about is rooted on the idea of seeking the approval of institutions laid down by a certain dominant culture. Hollywood is only the central of the world because we allow ourselves to think that way. You wanna be culturally proud? Build yourself into a good person so that your community may strive. Don't worry what other people think about you. Moreover, don't bother what Hollywood thinks. Just keep doing our own thing. Don't seek white man's approval. Seek your own approval! Peace

WOW! Black Panther was Amazing! I think it's the best Marvels picture I've seen to date. I think it's sad that colonizers are so caught up in their feelings about the actors skin color. But that's to be expected from white people. They have alway been so jealous of Black people. Smh. I think white people need to smile more. They are the only group of people triggered by this Amazing film. Could it be because of all the melanin on the screen? Lol. oh white people. really. You all are so hypocritical.

When Theyed were making Man called Horse or Dances with Wolves, theyed showed thated Native Americans showed thier pride on thier cultures and I thinked its important for the african american community can also do the same, its not about Gangsters or other kind, it shows, what Black History is all about familes and gettin together, I hope thyed continued to make theses kind of films, Look out, there's another Acandemy award going to this Movie.

I'm sorry but I was not blown away, it was a good movie, but to people like me been there done than, most of the special effects I've seen on shows like stargate Atlantis and SG1 you watch any of these show then you would not be impressed that much with black panther. Once again it was a good Movie, I encourage people to watch it, me I was not impress to be blunt I was expecting a lot more the way people and my friends was hyping it up.

Honestly I didnt think it was that good. It was alright. I appreciated the villain development and the art/costumes were awesome. My mine problem was with the pacing and character development of the heros. There were a lot of ppl to learn about in a short time. I didnt feel that connected to them. The sitting on the edge of your seat moments werent very meaningful because I didnt connect to the heros. ( except the princess she was awesome.

Guess I'm the only one who was bored. Saw it twice and sadly doesn't live up to the teaser trailer I saw. It's OK but it's not the marvel this video and critics are calling it. It's really a shame that marvel keeps following the same formula and people keep just saying it's Amazing. Newsflash it's not and you are doing exactly what marvel wants. Not thinking just rushing to see it and automatically loving it.
