1. We dont need a Childs play remake. That series is great (as as they said in the video, still going)
2. Bob Zemeckes doing a new take on Witches? Yes! So much YES. Cant wait to share that with my 7 year old nephew
3. Sword in the Stone, yeah, I heard about that. Could be good. Reserving judgment till I see a trailer.
4. Uptown Saturday Night depends on the casting and execution. Could be great. Timeless story. Modern version maybe very entertaining but, again, well see.
5. Too soon for a Point Blank remake. I expect a loose adaptation that should probably be called something else. Also expect a very mediocre action movie that I will watch once (you said its gonna be on Netflix? Yeah, Ill watch it once)
But all in all I feel there are already too many reboots/remakes being made. Studio execs have literally hundreds of genuinely new ideas sitting on their desks and opt for these reboots/remakes because they have this misguided notion that a preexisting title has a built in audience. Just because something has a familiar name doesnt necessarily mean it will be well received (cough, Ghostbusters, cough. People that actually care about film are increasingly demanding more original content. Listen to the audience Hollywood!
Looper, youre using the word awesome too freely. Only actually excited for more info about one of those 5 projects.

I think some of you are being a little harsh on remakes. I love original and innovative ideas as much as the next person, and certainly I'm not saying all remakes are good or anything - far from it. However, some very phenomenal movies have been remakes, and I think when done properly remakes can be a really valuable source of entertainment. The main scenarios are:
- Remaking a movie that had a good concept but wasn't executed properly (Ocean's 11; I honestly can't think of any else but I feel like there are probably more.
- Remaking a movie that didn't have certain technological or other filmmaking-related advancements at its disposal (King Kong (2005, The Thing (1982, True Grit, Scarface.
- Remaking a foreign movie and adapting the culture its set in so its accessible to wider audiences (The Departed, Insomnia, Let Me In, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Ring.
Sure, lots of remakes are just cash grabs and ride the name of the original in order to make money without actually doing anything. But a lot of these are remade from really great movies, and sure not all are better than the original or anything, but for the most part they still give us a unique film experience that expands upon the original, and they're good in their own right. I'm glad that they exist, and in some cases I actually think they're better than the original.

remakes are not awesome, only some are. In general, they're inferior films that prove Hollywood has no care for new ideas, and most of the times, they DON'T make money and cost more. It's more jobs for up and coming film makers gone, and, the Child's play remake will likely tank and Universal, should sue and MGM come up with their own idea, but nnno. The Witches, RE- ADAPTION likely has more to do with the book. Also it's sad that there's more re-working than new films, and, I say it all the time, I HAVE SCRIPTS, be a great investment, but, nope, it's all remakes and most are terrible and fans DON'T WANT REMAKES, many want NEW THINGS, so, independt films or Asylum for original stuff, is where to go. REMAKE HOLLYWOOD!

Also King of the hill mike judge the producer/Voice Actor of the show talked about bringing back king of the hill wholw remake re-launch of the show on fox. Where the couples like the hills & bill & gribbles would be in their early 50s or mid 50s much more older. & bobby & Luanne & Connie & Joseph would be young adulta because it seemed that bobby's age never changed like he never passes puberty. Always 11-12 yr old boy in the show. But mike judge said thats how itd be young adults to them & so on & itd be lil difficult but he said its one of those things. Where when i have the time ill get around to it.

For those who care, the Tremors tv-series reboot with Kevin Bacon was cancelled recently. But on the other hand, Tremors 7 is officially in the works. It's not greenlit yet, but it mostly comes down to budget. The main issue is finding a new take on the Graboids that will be fun and entertaining, but not too expensive. The current pitch is underwater graboids, but that could be tricky on a mid-level budget. Maybe I'm weird, but I loved Tremors 1 - 4, 6 and the tv-series. Tremors 5 was shit, though.

If it's a remake and Hollywierd is involved, 99. 99% it will suck. The latest atrocious remake I've seen has been this year's remake of Inside (2007. The new Inside (2017-2018) is the most atrocious remake I have ever seen. Worse than Martyer (2017). When will Hollywood start paying good salaries for good screenwriters instead of CGI?

I hear remake /reboot I think pass. I for one am sick and tired of. Them it's like should we come up with something new Na. Let's just be lazy and retell / remake/ reboot something that has been done before. It's easier the plot is done already along with everything else. All we really need to do is cast people.

The witches: It might be good, if they put some love on it
The sword in the stone: Not sure about this neither, but maybe. (though I'm quite tired of finding here and there references on Arthur and all that)

I feel like Hollywood remakes movies because they lack creativity. Whats worse, they dont bother to give it much effort. Most movies remade are legendary And shouldnt be touched. I must admit I did like the very different remake of, It. Keyword, very different and more creative than most remakes.

Those who grew up when the original movies were made will be really critical. Sometimes you have to know when to say when or you're going to have a lot of flops on your hand. Another thing they waste money making is those horrible gender swapping in movies. Guess they like losing money.
