Well, I am going to add Heath Ledger(as literally-everyone already has, but not just for The Joker character in The Dark Knight but look and mention at least one of his other works where he is BRILLIANT! His portrayal as Ennis Del Mar in Brokeback Mountain? And come on Morgan Freak' n Freeman-that guy played God-he makes everyone a better actor- Then of course you Meryl Streep who takes down all these guys. Actually, I would love to see how a Daniel Day-Lewis/Meryl Streep movie would go?

I really appreciate that these actors want to give it their best for the role, But they went too far, you shouldn't put your mental and physical health at risk because of a film. these actors are all talented enough. & If they weren't the right one's then surely look for ones eg for the physical side get a naturally thinner actor, or a naturally fatter actor. It's kind of sad to think actors think they have to do this just to get the feel of the role they're playing.

Weight gain and loss repeatedly is more taxing on the body than staying even moderately overweight. I worry about Christian Bale's health, and have done since The Machinist. When I saw that film for the first time I was recovering from anorexia myself and honestly found it hard to watch as it was so triggering he was that thin. I find it hard to believe that he put himself through that.

I respect all the actors that do whatever it takes to become one with the character they play, but that's the reason theatre actors are better in my opinion, they don't have to go through all that to play a character, and between scenes they just have fun and enjoy themselves (and are themselves, without going crazy, being weird and making others around them uncomfortable)

I always wonder if this stuff should result in acting awards. Sure theres acting there, but theyre obviously doing their most to actually become the person mentally and physically. A great actor could transform themselves on screen without needing to go through such anguish. I think this stuff is admirable too, but. idk. I feel like it depends.

Carrey was much better equipped for playing Tony Clifton, as Tony was already such an exaggerated character whether played by Kaufman or Zmuda, it didn't hurt when Carrey was red lining, but Andy was way more subtle than how Carrey portrayed him. Still good, but not as good as he seems to believe.

If i was the first one not eat and loose weight for the part. I would do it until i die of starving myself and be happy with it. I don't eat anyway's. As it is i drink nothing but coffee anyway's is what i drink all day long filling up on drink's. And i alway's had even as a boy i use to be.

He played the OCD symptoms so well, that some persisted after the filming, and he had to go on therapy for a few months afterwards to get rid of them. OCD can be a devastating condition, so he probably went through some serious suffering.
