The Most Dreadful TV Shows Of 2018 HEDRJO: Things that don't belong on this list:
Deception - not a masterpiece, but this was a solid show that got much better as it progressed.
The Resident - while it isn't a must-see, I wouldn't necessarily use the term dreadful.
Splitting up together - in a landscape of laugh-track-filled comedies, this show is a breath of fresh air. Legitimately funny, and even touching at times
Here and Now - I will fight for the validity of this show until the end of time. The only reason people didn't watch this is because of how heavily it dealt with serious social issues. This show had a ton of things to say about the world we live in, but nobody wanted to listen because it was too dark for them. Anybody who's reading this and cares about the social injustices in our country (and who don't mind a touch of random supernatural elements) should watch this show despite its cancellation.

I disagree about the Resident. I love it because it shows just how greedy and how far a Hospital is willing to go to make a buck, from an Oncologist testing out chemo on a healthy patient to a world renowned Chief of Surgery, who has Parkinsons, i'm guessing(We still don't know exactly)and putting patients in danger during his surgeries and making his staff lie and cover for him. All things that really DO happen. The reason the titular character seems arrogant is because, not only is he really good at what he does, but he actually cares for his patients, which, in that Hospital, is a rare thing. I'm pretty critical about the kind of shows i like, and this one i did, because it's honest and the closest thing so far to the real workings of a Hospital.

Alex Inc? Never heard of it.
Child Support? Network game shows are so last century.
Deception? Bill Bixby's The Magician was way better.
Life Sentence? Some network TV can be the same.
Living Biblically? Something about the FDLS? No? G'bye.
The Resident? TV doctors have lost prestige since Gray'Anatomy.
Sweetbitter? I don't get Starz at Silver level cable TV.
Splitting Up Together? All I hear is Sonny & Cher's You Better Sit Down Kids song.
Here and Now? Never heard of it.

I haven't seen most of what you showed in the video because they didn't look good. However, I did enjoy the full season of The Resident. Overall the show played out well for the season, though I did find some of the stories a little too far fetched. However, I will watch season 2. It has a good cast & Now seeing Matt & Emily in a type of roll they've never played before.

I watched the first 5 minutes of 'A year of living Biblically' and I could not get over the loud and overbearing laugh track and every poor joke that was said, it was SO unfunny I could not believe they went with that format. When I read the blurb I thought it was going to a 'Last man on earth' feel, how wrong I was. It was like the worst sort of 90s sitcom.

I stopped watching Walking Dead during season 3. Has it gotten better? I love the comics. I DID watch that one Lucille scene and it seemed properly brutal but for me, the show had become a poorly written soap opera and it ruined the characters I love from the page, and worst of all they did NOTHING to write something new yet just as compelling.

Maybe you don't realize this, being British, but most of these shows are on network television. You would be correct. Most network TV today is awful, except for The Good Place. Also, I knew a couple growing up in the 80's who had divorced and the wife lived on the first floor of the home and the husband lived in the walk-out basement.

Was that sarcasm at the start? Because the only shows on TV now that I watch are The Orville and Big Bang Theory. The Walking Dead should have ended years ago, and everything else is pure garbage as it is every season. Nice list though, I will be extra sure to avoid these steaming piles like they were the second coming of Cop Rock.

The show Deception sounds like just a piss poor version of the good BBC drama Johnathan Creek.
In Johnathan Creek a genius engineer, who makes the magic tricks for a celebrity magician, helps the police solve impossible crimes.
As very few magicians come up with and make their own tricks, Johnathan Creek is more believable.

I watched the Resident and thought it was pretty enjoyable. Not groundbreaking. I mostly liked seeing Matt Czuchry again after watching him in Gilmore Girls. The thing I liked most was that its the only medical show Ive seen to date that shows hospital bureaucracy, however they definitely over dramatize it.
