The Real Reason Netflix Canceled Iron Fist And Luke Cage
video description
So far, I don't hate Daredevil season 3, and it's still a show of quality in many areas, but I just think that Daredevil, who is widely considered one of the best hand-to-hand combatants in the Marvel Universe, (Pretty much tied with Iron Fist so I've been told) gets kicked around far too much. I know he suffered the loss of his right ear, and that's a good reason as to why he is slowed down, (I only just finished episode 3) but I never took him as one to give in to despair the way he does. Also, even struggling with further conditions, I can't see him getting knocked about the way he is, not to that extent. I still plan on finishing the season, but if it doesn't come back for season 4, I can't say that I will be too busted up about it.

My guess, is that execs tried to mess with LC the same way they have for other black shows, and change them to attract a different audience than the one it built 2 seasons on.
As for Iron Fist. I haven't made it to S2 yet so I don't know how that was going, but S1 was a hot mess. Danny Rand made Inspector Gadget look like a damn genius. My fav character on the show was Wade Meachum, by far, just because he was the most interesting.
But honestly, if Disney gives any of these shows the same treatment it gave Star Wars, then to hell with it. If I see Rian Johnson or Kathleen Kennedy come anywhere NEAR any of these shows, Punisher included, I'm definitely out.

Disney grabbing everything to their own stream services will eventually kick them back on the teeth. they failed to understand that there is such thing as over-saturation. The more shows/films you create of one specific subject, the faster people will get fed up with it.
But their real aim is not to make more money out of movies, because it's not where they're making the big money. merchandise is. The first Star Wars movie made around 2Billion dollars, but in merchandise they made over 20Billion. how much you think they'll make this year with their superheroes? And imagine when they get the X-Men as well. That's their goal.

At the time of their cancellations, I am still watching Luke Cage season 2, so I am pretty bummed its not going to 3. Ive been playing Iron Fist in the background while I do my homework lol because I didnt care about it too much, but I must admit that Season 2s ending was intriguing and I was looking forward to seeing Coleen with the iron fist. I just hope Jessica Jones, Punisher, and Daredevil stick around, but Im legitimately annoyed by both of these shows being cancelled. I understand more for Iron Fist, but I feel like it would have gotten better in a third season.

Netflix has not been consistent at all with their shows in general. Luke Cage and Iron Fist were terrible - in my opinion. Moving to their other shows, Jessica Jones s1 was freaking awesome, but s2 was awful. To add, Luke Cage was my favorite hero in Jessica Jones s1, but absolutely ruined in his own spin. Then you have Dare Devil and The Punisher, unexpectedly, are still good (knock on wood. Their production is a roller coaster. Overall, Netflix is extremely inconsistent. It seems every week you hear about a show being cancelled, Marvel or not.

Iron Fist was horrible only in the casting of Danny. The guy seems nice enough but he didn't seem to gain footing until the last 3 episodes of season 1 and season 2 was an improvement thanks again in large part to his supporting cast. It's amazing, but I liked everyone in Iron Fist more than Iron Fist. Luke Cage was shocking. I had to Google to believe it was gone when I heard it, and I found this video. How you cancel a show after that Bushmaster gold is unreal. Disney'ing out is going to kill this for real if that's going to be the case.

Right when Iron Fist was getting good also LMAO, Lowkey Iron Fist S2 was better than Luke Cage S2 imo. The ending was also interesting af, Something about them traveling the world in search of info about The Iron fist and other things just sounds like a super fun season. Plus with him using Guns he can enhance. Would have been a pretty neat season imo, Would have had both Danny action scenes with the guns and blade/punching fight scenes with Colleen. Would have been a pretty unique series at that point imo.

Iron Fist S2 got tremendously better and at least S3 would have been nice for a closure, they earned it. I also didn't feel alot of padding there. Luke Cage S2 felt a little slow sometimes, but I liked especially the bad guys of that show. Thankfully we will see Blade with Mahershala Ali! All in all I can't say it was too much. as you could chose what you wanted to watch and it was still a cohesive story. Punisher S1 for example was intentionally firmly footed in reality, without ANY hints of powered people.

I really didn't like the casting for Daniel Rand from the beginning. He was weak and it's hard to get around not liking the actor portraying the leading role. I think it is also hard for the actors and writers to give us a good character arch in the shortened production schedules under the Netflix studios. Obviously, I consume media and reap the benefits of the studio firing out products as quickly as they can, but one dimensional characters are boring to watch on screen.

I will be kinda glad if punisher and daredevil are snatched up. I'm just over the whole I'm gonna kill everyone on the planet for revenge attitude. Not heroic at all. Just angry selfish people. Hurt people hurt other people. Just a continual cycle. I like the shows where the super heros actually act on the behalf of a greater cause. Danny Rand is just a damn basket case. His show was lame.
