He's not really one of the greatest. even in the comic he's a very one dimensional character, more relative to a bad child who's experiences are opening his eyes to his own humanity. even though he's no longer human. If you've read the comic it's kind of like watching a child learn to walk.
The comics are very edgy, in addressing subjects such as rape, molestation, serial killing, alcoholism, and do force the less than better to question their own moral compass while under the influence of spinoffs and theology.
I'm a spawn fan, and a fan of McFarlane, but actually, he's not McFarlanes best character and he's not one of the greatest comic book characters.
The reboot should be nice, but I stopped caring when Capullo left. The story is so so if the art can't convey the grit of it.

How are they going to polish this turd of a movie with Jamie Foxx in it. Throwing away time and money on this movie. Least its only ten mill they are throwing down the toilet, but I am not bothering with it with Jamie Foxx as one of the leads. What a joke. This movie is going to totally get ruined by a pretend actor who cannot act who plays the same stick in every movie he is in. and its bad.
Id rather get dental work than watch that guy act.

I get what some of you are saying, Michael J White does fit the spawn role, i loved him as well and all of that, but, considering this won't be an all out action movie and more plot driven i'd rather go with a serious actor. Let's be honest, MJW isn't really a great actor. he fit the 90's campy style, but if you want to make a semi-horror like spawn movie then you dont go with campy.

Jamie Foxx is cool but not really the guy that comes to mind when I think of Al Simmons. He'll probably be under a tonne of makeup anyway so it still might work.
Even though McFarlane didn't want to do an origin story, I wouldn't have really minded watching one since it's been so long ago that spawn was last on the big screen. Really excited to see where they take it.

But seriously, who would have thought Robert Downey jr would have played a awesome Ironman? My only complaint is Twitch will be the main character and spawn will only have small roles threw out the movie. its like watching Bruce banner 90% and seeing the Hulk 10% of the movie.

I really dont know how i feel about Jamie foxx playin spawn but one thing i do like is that he really likes spawn, he is a big Fan. Michael jay admitted that he wasnt into that comic stuff so yeah. Im curious, i think fox is a great actor i feel tho that he is a lil to small to play the bulky spawn

Lol not a hatter but jammie fox only does a Little good in some movies, he sucked in spider man how do you sucl in a kids movie, 97 spawn was not bad but he could have been more vilent like in the comic an they need a better spawn then fox. just saying we need a fighter.

I think Idris elba would be better than Jamie Foxx. And im not a fan of Renner either. I am happy that something is happening with Spawn. I love dark supernatural movies with demons and monsters. There are not many films that quench my thirst for that genera

The funny thing about casting is a lot of the time the public can't see that actor as their favourite character so they kick up a massive whinge. Then under great writing and direction, it becomes impossible not to see that actor as the character.
