I honestly paid no attention to that tid bit and would never have known it was from a real tragedy. I would say yes it would be a big problem if it was the main focus of the movie and they profited of it. But no disrespect to the real life tragedy, but the parts used made up like 10 seconds of the film and was hardly the main focus. I bet 99% of viewers were just like me, paid little attention to the clip and had no idea it was real. Like I read in another comment just people making an elephant out of a mouse.

Oh, my gosh. People need to calm down. It's stock footage, which means they're absolutely allowed to use it. It should be taken as them honoring the footage, not making it unrealistic. Not to mention it's such an insignificant part of the movie. Ughh.
Also, the movie can't be blamed for people being complete idiots doing the bird box challenge. Is Tide to blame for the Tide Pod challenge? No. Jeez.

Original thought - how many times have you seen the Twin Towers fall since it happened? I understand the 47 victims' families upset but you can't use someone else's issue to create your own label of censorship. I'm sure Pond 5 had to pay for that footage, so instead have that outrage be directed at whomever sold the footage to them. It's just like Mark-1 Plumbing. Google it if you don't know what I mean.

condolences to that tragedy occur at that time. but past is past you do wish forget. ok fine with us. but once the video upload to internet it stay with internet don't even think delete it. possible ady youtubers try their ridiculous editing video skills edit that tragedy footage to do their own video gain viewers. the cruel fact you can't stop the public edit that tragedy footage for their own footage.

Before, during, and after the moment where the footage is shown, the actresses were in no way belittling or disrespecting the footage or the people involved in the tragedy. Netflix was in no way making fun or a parody of such event. It is extremely sad that so many lives were lost in this accident, however, its in no way being ridiculed in the scene it was shown.

To figure out where that footage came from seems like a deliberate attempt at discrediting the movie. Im honestly beginning to wonder if this video (including my own comment) is doing anyone a favor. I dont think it is. God we are gonna look so dumb to people 100 years from now.

If the movie wasn't so successful though nobody would bat an eye. Movies do that all the time. Whenever something gains a lot of publicity people go nuts and find smth to complain.
Or maybe nobody cares and they try to gain even more attention?

Tell those citizens to stop being sensitive especially since NO ONE knew that the footage was from there and wasn't on longer than 5 seconds.
