The Lady Killers is much underrated. Just as good as any other of their films, and one of the best in all aspects. Great plot, acting and a high level of comedy. I suspect this movie is ranked so low and has been overlooked due to racial issues ( like multiple black actors and characters, set in an elderly black womans home and a black southern sheriff. Dont let critics and reviewers see a film for you. All they do is determine the financial success and legacy of a movie by telling you whether to see it or not. If you enjoy the art and entertainment of movies, judge them for yourself and if you missed this one youd be pleasantly surprised as comedy reaches everyone. Again, its definitely one of the Cohens best and its hard to rank these movies because theyre all good. I just stopped immediately to write this in the first few seconds. Im sure Ill be disagreeing with the ranks all the way through. Here goes, pressing play.

Hudsucker Proxy is underrated and Fargo is overrated, both in your list and in peoples' memories. No idea why you have Raising Arizona so high-- is it because it's old? Raising Arizona would be completely forgotten if it wasn't for the rest of the Coen Bro's filmography for it to stand on. Lebowski is not only the Coen Bros funniest comedy, it's high on the list of best comedies all time-- definitely deserves top 3. I watched Barton Fink once years ago and I didn't understand it. It felt dull and the payoff made little sense. Maybe I missed something in it, or maybe you put one of their worst movies in the top 5 because it's arty.

The coens arent one trick ponys so to speak like Tarantino who relies on blood and violence too much. thats not a bad thing though, Tarantino just likes those movies and likes to make them and I like pulp fiction a lot. Its just that the coens are so smart and interested in anything and everything they can make whatever they want. Youd never guess the guys who made the big lebowski made no country for old men lol then inside Llewyn Davis comes out of no where which is my favourite. And buster Scruggs? How can they come up with these movies? They must write and rewrite hundreds of times.

What is with this list? Coen Brother films are brilliant works of art! The stories are brilliantly crafted and the plots so unusual that they keep the viewer hooked and, they use the best of actors so how can anyone criticise them like this? Only folk who really understands film attraction and has an open and receptive mind will appreciate the true beautiful style of these films.

I thought Lady killers was a great film personally. I remember some clown acting like he was some big movie buff saying Lady killers was crap and coen brothers movies I rattled off they never herd of bar lebowski who he said: Oh that stoner flick? Then proceeded to say he loved the entire Indiana Jones trilogy including. Get. This. The Crystal Skull.

Given reviews and apparent consensus, I'm probably alone in saying that Hail Caesar was very funny. Frankly, I found it a much more enjoyable watch than The Big Lebowski, which I've never cared for (although it's light years better than duds like The Man Who Wasn't There and Burn After Reading)

My favorite from them is Inside Llewyn Davis. Maybe its because i love character studies that truly break the protagonist down with so many different layers and emotions to the point of feeling sad about yourself. but I digress. Great movie. Great soundtrack as well
