The Absolute Worst Casting Choices In The MCU
video description
Malekith by Eccleston: so much better than comic version, gives dept to the term dark elf. What dark elves al about getting portrayed in such a great way.
Kaecilius by Mikkelsen: such a great performance, one of the best bad-guy-acts in the MCU. The guy is next level actor and did so for Marvels dr Strange too. He ties everything from mid movie to the end together and the counterplay performance is awesome. His character is such in place and so strongly played, just the way it needed to be when he alone playes against four other characters/actors. Outstanding?
Vanko by Rourke: role played great the master way, just wow! Spitting, losing shoe, smiling after defeat. So basicly ur saying everything Mikkelsen should have done to prevail Rourke did so he is bad? Get ur mind straight Looper-writer.
Yep Iron Fist.
So many Marvel fans enjoyed Qs performance. Everybody should know Quicksilvers death in AoU was all about licencing.
Wrong about Ronan in so many ways. Ronan was played perfectly and in a GotG way. That movie is unique, none other villain would have done so awesome. Make up your mind thou about this.
Hulk wont get the credit it deserves for a looooong time. License problem. Disney killed Hulk.
So it kindy feels like Looper needed to make this youtube-clip and needed to ad some more content cause Iron Fist and Inhumans alone dont fill it up.
This one is one of the worst Loopers ever.

I kind of sympathize with eccleston, apparently he wasnt told how extensive the makeup would be and he was upset that he wasnt told and his frustration shows in his performance. Granted, its part of the job, best thing for him to do would have been to take a deep breath and just roll with it.
You know what else though, this list has nothing to do with casting choices, these actors (mostly) did a damn good job with what they were given to work with. I, for one, loved all these performances and movies/shows, and I remember them all fondly. Minus Jane foster, wasnt a fan of that one. This list borders on flat out mean. AND INHUMANS WAS NOT THAT DAMN BAD MAN! GAAAAAAAHD! I watched the whole thing the other day and after episode one and the death of the wig she became my favorite character. I was able to ignore little nitpicks I had and enjoy it, rare for me. I even got past the blonde girls poke ball hairdo. Plus, Ive heard they only had 6 weeks to make the show. That taken into consideration, give credit where its due at the very least.

Do you even read your own titles? Bad casting choice implies that it was the wrong actor for the part. What this video is about (with the exception of the one on Quicksilver) is under developed or poorly written characters. And also, as many legit critics have said, Tim Roth performance in The Hulk was one of the best in the MCU. He was the only good thing in that movie. I guess watching too much sci-fi has robbed you of your abilities to discern nuanced acting.
Oh, and Micky Rourke was the best thing in Ironman II, and I definitely remember all the backstory details about his character.

Wow! The person that created this video doesn't understand movie making whatsoever. An actor can only work with the script they are given. In most of these cases, they have been given poor scripts and have done their best with that poor script. I could go through the entire list but it is simply idiotic to compare Gamora to the character of Christine Palmer and describe them both as girlfriend roles.
I'm glad most commentators agree. Whoever makes these videos needs to get someone that understands what they are talking about.

Iron Man 2 is simply garbage. I don't know what the fk was Feige thinking before giving it a go, guess he didn't read the script and had too much confidence on Favreau. Irony is that during it's release I had missed it for some reason and decided to watch it few days back ie; after watching the Endgame blockbuster and I was like Marvel. Seriously? The only scene good was pre-climax where Hammer presents his weapons in Stark Expo and they attack. Even the last fight with Vanko was not upto the mark

Quicksilver in age of ultron died mainly cause someone had to die to add a darker tone to the franchise. You need to sacrifice a hero to show everyone that their lives are at stake and its not a guaranteed outcome for anyone to survive. As till then it was always all peachy, heroes go in hurt the bad guys and all of them make it back home.
And if you would have to decide who to kill, you probably end up making the same choice.

What about the lady who plays Black Widow. She's suppose to be this tuff lady who's been through all this stuff, but she doesn't have 1 scratch on her, and she look so soft in my opinion, she needs a mask or recast her. On the other hand I thought Captain Marvel was going to end up with the same problem, but after watching it, I liked her, I was never brought back to reality by her acting during the movie.

I don't dislike Ecclestone as an actor but he is monumentally miscast as Malekith. Malekith is flamboyant. camp almost. gleefully sadistic and insane. After cutting off Thor's arm in one of the comics he taunts both the new Thor and the Odinson, wearing it around his neck like a feather boa. He ought to have been portrayed by a character actor like Alan Tudyk or Robert Sheehan.

I thought writers and directors were the ones that choose and guide actors in a movie. They don't get a pass.
However, when a movie does well, writers and directors get awards also. This was an opinion piece by someone who got passed up as any of those three who make movies. Get over it, OpinionMan!
