Army of Darkness: : though I like both endings, I personally believe that the original post-apocalyptic ending was the better of the two. Also I feel that with the direction the series had turned, the sequel potential for Ash in the ruined future could have made for an epic finale. After all, the book sent him back 600 years once. the epic quest To find the book again and fix things one last time could have been great, especially if it was the book that caused the apocalypse to begin with.

Let me get this straight, Mark Hamill was the only one who noticed that the endings of SW7 and 8 were inconsistent? So Rian Johnson wrote and directed SW8 without even bothering to read the script for SW7 to assure continuity? And the same goes for JJ Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy?
Especially Kennedy. She has one job, and it's to coordinate the movies! YOU HAD ONE JOB!
Next time you spot something like that, Mark, keep your mouth shut. Like Rian Johnson is ever going to be your friend.

As A retired ghostwriter of many movies since 1977, there have been many B versions of screenplays made into movies.
The Atomic Kid is the crappy B version of Back to the Future.
All the Star Wars films since the first three have been lower quality B versions.
I don't write anymore but if I did, I would shoot for the lowest quality possible.
The new Bill and Ted's movie is missing storylines and the higher quality songs. The songs got destroyed.

Payback is one of my favorite movies of all time but had I seed the director's cut (one of the worst things that has happened to any movie ever) fist, I would never even have seen it again and found it absolute shit, sure they changed lots of other things to that made it unwatchable but the ending in the theatrical release is one of my favorite endings of all time.

Hmm. I call bullsht on the Ep7 reason (not the finale. The original script was discarded when Rian was hired so there wasn't enough time to JJ decline the offer, the hire of Trevor, the firing of Trevor, the hire Rian, the writing of the new completely new script and to JJ reshoot the ending. But that is just me.

9: 08 Not to sound like a know it all or anything, but it was not his (Luke) light saber, was his father's Anakin. his light saber is green as we saw in the return of the jedi. NOW where did that green light saber ended? who knows? probably toss to the ocean as well.

I can't believe you have a list of radically different alternate movie endings without mentioning Payback. The director's cut has an ending that changes the entire movie. (hint: Kris Kristofferson isn't even in the director's cut)

I believe the original ending of Fatal Attraction is that Alex (glenn close) commits suicide (congruent with her hypothesed borderline personality disorder diagnosis) and manages to frame Dan (Michael Douglas) for the murder.

Ive always wondered why when Dan is drowning Alex at the end of Fatal Attraction her eyes turn white while she is submerged. But then in the next shot they are normal color again. Anyone have any insight on this?
