Brandon Routh nailed the role of Clark/Superman. No one has done it better. Henry Cavill would do a great Bizarro Superman, he came across as to cold and distant. Brandon captured the sadness of being the last of his kind and the yearning to fit in. I so looked forward to a sequel with his son. And DC if you are listening, BRIGHTEN UP! The trend for dark, shadowy, sepia tone visual effects has been way overdone. It may save on sets but viewing in other than a darkened room is virtually impossible.

We still don't know if Cavill is done yet. I read that he is still thinking about coming back to play the part soon. At least that's what I read on the internet. I just read that they're gonna use the new 52 Superman, but slightly decrease the darkness of it. Just giving him more of a hopeful personality. Thankfully though keeping the red tights off.

Like people say. if you wanna watch Superman returns. it came out in 1978. not Brandon Rouths fault. I love both movies but Thor took more than 1 movie to reach its potential but WB should just learn to stick to its guns not back out when a pot of gold doesnt shit on them. love the craft. Cavill and Routh do

Superman Returns is a very underrated movie. It's criticized cause it lack action but the movie is very rich in other areas if we think right. It has a lot of filosophy involved and a romantic atmosphere that honor Richard Donner version and other 70s and 80s movies as well. It deserved its sequels.

I'm glad to have seen the jacked and bearded 'Alpha' version of Clark Kent, but Brandon was more authentic to me as the guy we all grew up watching, I guess. I don't know I like them both but Superman Returns is something I go back to quite often when I'm in the mood to watch a Superman flick.

Lol, if they could also have Dean Caine (Supergirl) appear in a crossover as an older Superman from the future, it would be an unprecedented three guys who were all Superman from different films or TV shows at the same time. Even better if they could somehow also include Henry Cavill.

Yes cant wait Brandon was a great Clark Kent/Superman. Henry Cavill is a great actor but theres is no difference between hes Clark and Superman i know its a darker version but you could still play a dorky character and have them not be campy at all.

I had no problem with Brandon at least he look like Christopher Reeves little brother and his mannerism as Superman was just perfect
As for Henry Cavill he didn't do a bad job I blame the writers for making him too serious and mopey
