At the end of Episode 3 Revenge Of The Sith, C3PO's and R2D2's minds are wiped. As ordered by Bail Organa. That's why Vader didn't recognise C3PO. so there's no more notable plot hole!

There's no plot hole, General Organa wipes Threepio's memory at the end of a ROTS, leaving Artoo as the only droid to remember him, if he didn't get memory wiped either.
