As more details surrounding the untimely death of Chadwick Boseman surface, the thing that becomes most clear is just how kind and inspirational of a man the world has lost. The years he spent living with knowledge of his cancer, while continuing to make movies and uplift others, only further amplify the altruistic nature that everyone came to know him by. Meanwhile, of course, his acting prowess was undeniable, and the role which shined the brightest for this immortal thespian was that of King T'Challa in the Marvel Studios mega-hit Black Panther. Space: First of all Chadwick Boseman and T'Challa are not the same person, Chadwick's death does not mean the character has to die. In my opinion, it would be a slap in the face to Mr. Boseman's efforts to bring this great character to life on the big screen, only to have him die unceremoniously off-screen or in some cheesy CGI scene, (which is the only way to pass the mantel over to Shuri) There should be a respectful moratorium on casting speculation, and then they should do a real search for an actor who can pay respects to Chadwick's work while at the same time carrying on his legacy with the character.

YES! Shuri would work so, so well! Not only because she's a great character (who can go for the genius-fighter like Tony Stark) but also because even though we've already seen a fill a great man's shoes story (Far from Home, in the context of siblings it hits completely different. There's always some rivalry, a lot of comparing yourself to your siblings (or your parents doing that for you, the fact that they are often your friend, etc. There's so much that can be used in the story if it's Shuri, and it would mean seeing more of her on the screen!

No, speaking as a long time Marvel comics fan, the company has to recast the role. The character still has a lot to go and grow, making the BP story still very much untold. And, as much as I like Shuri, she isn t big enough yet to carry that heavy mantle.
Or, maybe Marvel can somehow resurrect the Killmonger character and have him find redemption. Michael B. Jordan would fill that role well. Plus, he and Boseman were friends so he would do well to honor the character and Boseman s legacy. I don t think he ll be able to have the same swag tho.

If anyone I think Michael B. Jordan should be the first option. He did an outstanding job playing Killmonger and has the most experience. Ultimately Mr Jordan's choice because I can see mixed feelings about taking the role but It might be the best way to honor his friend and co-actor Chadwick Boseman. I do not see an outside actor being bought in and able to grasp the loss while being able to preserve the memory beyond Jordan, It could also allow the cast and fans get a closure moment in the movie with a dedication clip.

Shuri should not be Black Panther yet.
She s had so far, little development, but a lot of people, including myself, don t absolutely love her character, and wouldn t trust her to take up the mantle.
Maybe she can become BP later, but not now, just cast someone else, it s not disrespectful at all.

I think Black Panther 2 should take place between Avengers 3 and Avengers 4 while T'challa is missing from thanos snap. Have Suri take on Mantle and go up against Dr Doom and Namor. Then if black Panther 2 does well the we can do Black Panther 3 where king T'challa return to Wakanda and dies early.

Saw a interesting theory/idea that they could use. Do a brief death in the beginning, bring in a good(non-evil) alternate universe version of Warmonger to bring Michael B Jordan back in. He has already kinda played (50/50) Black Panther/Golden Jaguar. Just an idea i saw, plz dont hate me.

I say just recast.
Passing the torch to another actor isn t disrespectful to Chadwick s memory. It s a celebration of the fact that HE elevated a previously unknown character who studios saw as a big risk to icon status.
My pick Romany Malco - It s never gonna happen but.

for the sake of this young talented actor that has passed this world i think producers of black panther should leave the sequel of this movie it should not be made ever i think this will be the best way to pay tribute in the memory of chadwick boseman rip wakanda legend
reply

I don't think they should have another one at all. Chadwick WAS T'challa. Trying to recreate him with somebody else would never feel alright. I'd be okay with no more black panther movies rather than pretend somebody else is the great Wakandan king
