Small Details You Missed In The Suicide Squad Trailer

The red-band trailer for James Gunn's The Suicide Squad is finally here, and everyone's freaking out. The trailer features the best look yet at this ambitious and fun film from the horribly beautiful mind of the Guardians of the Galaxy filmmaker and it's packed with small details you just might have missed. At various points in the trailer, we see scenes set somewhere with palm trees and a weapon-toting military. What is this place? It's a fictional island nation in Latin America that we know from previous reports is called Corto Maltese. The Suicide Squad producer Peter Safran previously explained the significance of the island, and why the Suicide Squad is going there in the first place. There, they have to destroy a Nazi-era prison and laboratory named Jotunheim. [It's a place] where political prisoners were held and experimentations took place. Corto Maltese's military has more than its fair share of encounters with the Squad, and by the looks of it, they're being led by Major General Mateo Su rez, who's played by Joaqu n Cos o of Narcos fame. As Gunn revealed in a post he shared on Twitter in September 2020, he wrote the role specifically for Cos o but Major General Mateo Su rez doesn't appear to have any counterpart in the page of DC Comics.

All I know is it looks 100x better than whatever cut we got in 2016. Certainly not Ayers real cut. King shark, Bloodsport and of course our girl Harley stand out here. And starro obviously being the villian. People have problems with the cgi on king shark and the jokes and I see why. But I personally enjoyed the trailer. I will watch this in cinema. I have faith in James Gunn.

People think that what Harley Q is actually holding isn't a spear, but the Javlin of the other guy on the team, whom most likely probably dies.
Is King Shark a DumbAss in the comics? Because he sure as heck didn't seem that way in the CW Flash series.

That Lloyd Kaufman guy that made The Toxic Avenger that they mentioned in this video was in a documentary I watched on Netflix about BlockBuster. The dude is a bit of a looney nut job.

Not a spear. it's a javelin. I imagine javelin played by flula borge I'm guessing his character dies at some point and thats where Harley gets his weapon from.

That spear is not the spear of destiny. It's not even a spear. It's a Javelin used by the character Javelin which I'm guessing will be killed off.

Now that James Gunn is done directing The Suicide Squad, I'm hella excited for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and the debut of Adam Warlock!
