What The Rotten Tomatoes Reviews Are Saying About The Irishman Phil: Hoffa had to go. As we consider The Irishman, it is good to understand Hoffa worked hard for organized labor and his union men. He brought the country to a halt with a major strike, leaving the grocery shelves of New York City nearly bare. No food in a city of 8 million people. When the teamsters went out, nothing moved. Nation shut down. Corporate America would never have completed its takeover of commerce by as few as six monopoly corporations if Hoffa led the Teamsters. Business could not allow labor to have equal or greater power. Hoffa had to go. With him went the power of the unions. When was the last time we had an effective strike? When have American workers had a smaller piece of the pie than now? Jack Nicholson and Danny Devito consider the movie Hoffa their best work. Can't wait so see The Irishman.

Robert di Niro WAS one of my favorite Actors of all time. NO MORE. I will NOT spend a dime on any movie he is in. If it comes out on Netflix I will watch it. Di Niro's HATE for our President goes way beyond any reasonable person's dislike of a Politician. He has made statements that the Secret Service has had to interview him over.
I hope he gets an incurable disease that takes a long time to take him out. Preferably VERY painful.

It's incredible and odd that none of the major studios would finance this film and that Martin had to go to Netflix to back it. What were they all thinking! It's terrific that Netflix did, of course, for all of us to see another masterfully executed Martin Scorsese film with such a phenomenal cast!

Imdb or rotten tomato reviews mean nothing, and i don't know how anyone would see the ratings somewhere on these sites to decide to wstch a movie or not, DE niro, Al pacino, pesci directed by Scorses that's all i need to know.

My take. Too long and drawn out. There wasn't much of a climax in the movie just ebb and flow of action and a hanging ending. Could've been 1 hour shorter. Casino got a lower rating. and Casino is way better.

Whenever projects circulate among really talented people for a really long time they are fantastic once those people finally make it happen, ie. 'Raging Bull'. Many Saints of Newark will probably be kick-ass too.

so glad Al Pacino and Joe Pesci never became pompous dickheads going around pounding their fists yelling obscenities in public at our President. De Niro classless buffoon.
