It's been nearly a decade since the visual feast of The Great Gatsby, and now, Baz Luhrmann is back, with an eye-popping biopic about the King himself, Elvis Presley. The Australian director has been looking to bring the project to fruition since 2014, and COVID-related delays pushed it back from October 2021 to June 2022. So now that critics have finally seen Austin Butler play Elvis in Luhrmann's over-the-top vision, what are they making of it? Elvis' widow, Priscilla Presley, and his daughter, Lisa Marie, gave it their stamp of approval. But what will audiences think of the spectacle? Here's what Rotten Tomatoes reviews are saying about Elvis. Lana: Hey Mr. Narrator of this ad/review. You need to look up definition of widow. Priscilla is NOT Elvis' widow. She is his ex-wife. A widow is a woman who has lost her husband. Elvis was NOT Priscilla's husband when he passed away. I think Austin is a fine young man who seems to have worked very hard finding the humanity in this entertainer. He is very caring and respectful of Elvis' legacy. Thank you Austin.

Critic reviews are nothing more than personal opinions which we all have; it is just that they get paid for their opinions and we don t. Liking or not liking anything in life is always a matter of individual perception; I just happen to believe that this should not be a paid position. I could not care less what others have to say; I will decide for myself whether it is any good or not.

When Luhrmann s Strictly Ballroom came to town 30 years ago it was the first film I saw that got a ROUSING standing ovation at the conclusion.
My town wasn t Cannes, either. I doubt his new film will elicit such a spontaneous, joyous response but hopefully it won t be too disappointing to those old enough to remember Elvis (like myself)

I saw the trailers for the film, looks at the very least energetic. But I always thought if they were going to do an updated version of an Elvis biopic, Miles Teller would have made the perfect E-man. The resemblance is striking and with the magic of Hollywood makeup and stuff, he'd be a dead ringer.

Every real person I've spoken to about this movie says its, fine. Nothing special, very easy to skip unless you are really hurting for Elvis content. Surprising no one though, is that critics once again gush over a movie that the average person cares nothing about

If you see the biopic of Freddy mercury only got 60 rotten tomatos and still was a good movie so we should not listen to critics, their job is to lie. Elvis has right now 79% rotteb tomatos just looked.

I don t think his downfall had anything to do with the man. We all know that the music industry loves to kill there biggest money makers and The King was certainly that. The list is endless.

With all the modern day Technology now, they couldn t deep fake Young & 42 ELVIS? If They can Do young Luke Skywalker in Boba Fett, They shoulda did it for this film.

Too bad they ruined the movie with having Tom Hanks play Colonel Parker!
He's not the squeaky clean guy everyone thinks he is! PEDO!
