He forgot to add that not everyone who solves the lament configuration is killed or tortured by the Cenobites.
One normally has to be aware of what it does and open it intentionally.
There have been instances of people being tricked into opening the configuration, and the center lights will leave them alone because they are not the ones who really called them.
Also, the the multiple configurations we usually see in the movies are fakes, which according to story is the reason we only ever see one open at a time or even a person trying to open one at a time. There is a reason it is referred to as THE Lament Configuration, not A Lament Configuration.

This movie is most likely going to be terrible! I am convinced they are unable/ unwilling to make anything otherwise anymore.
The director openly admits they are not seeking to make a good Hellraiser movie with this quote don't try to place the movie in continuity. .. Translation: we couldn't be bothered to do the research or the work to make this movie fit, so we're basically just going to do whatever we want.
