The One Hilarious Thing About Avatar 2 That Has Fans Talking

Listen up, bro: Fans have found a strange criticism of the dialogue in The Way of Water and you'll never guess what it could be Corey: I think this was easily explained in the opening minutes of the movie. Jake explains how the children speak Na vi and only Na vi, however he s around it so often that it just sounds like his native tongue (English) when he hears it. It was actually a clever way to explain the use of English so much throughout the film. So the term bro is simply a conduit for whatever word the Na vi children use as a term of endearment. Jake has heard the word bro and cuz before, so that s how we hear it as an audience.

They're not actually talking English, so there's no need to try and explain where they picked up the slang bro.
They are speaking Na'vi, but Jake hears it in his head as English and that is how we perceive the movie. If that's not made clear to these people, then they aren't as smart as they think they are for catching this. Everytime they say bro, it's just a translation of what they're calling each other in Na'vi - probably an abbreviation of the Na'vi word for brother. And Jake hears/translate that as bro because he IS of the right age group/upbringing to use that term.
Could they have substitued it for something actually age-appropriate for modern day teenagers? Sure. Is this a valid criticism? Not at all.
The dialogue in avatar 2 is not strong, but this is not an intelligent example of its shortcomings in my opinion.

Just because you hear one word out of American language that s gonna distract you from the green movie which is total have has oddities to me because the rest of the movie does not like just because you hear the word bro you re ripping it apart through ignored who is speaking but if you think about it I really think the role in one of the things that California boys speak and I want to most of the nobby have

My one complaint; despite the movie being 3. 5 hrs long, it felt like half or a 3rd of the footage of the movie was in every one of their trailers, that was what was distracting in theatres. Especially the giant spoiler of the whale coming to the rescue at the most seat-edging scene. The only thing that felt well kept was how Spider was abducted & rlly team Navi whole time even while friendly

How am I think people are just nitpicking and I m an amazing movie that doesn t mean queen you posted much because they re the same plot might be a little thin from one movie to the neck but if you want the movie you ll know how big movie ties into the color and then a cool seems on the series of movies will come to be the way it should be

Come to New Zealand and see how many people say bro or cuzz in every sentence when talking to other people, especially your mates, siblings and cousins Bro is also short for brother, and the characters that were saying bro were in the same family, so it made sense for me.

There were more humans left from the scientists part. Jake kids grew up surrounded by relatively young crew of people and probably some influence from movies, music. etc. That base is very high tech also. they didn't grew up like nornal na'vi kids.

This movie was yet another example of the regression in creativity of storytelling in hollywood.
Like everything these days, it's only focus is on the superficial visual aspects, with nothing new in depth of storytelling. Hollywood is finished

reply

Did they not get the point that the kids weren't actually speaking English? They were speaking Na'vi but we're hearing it in English because Jake hears it as if it's English because he's so used to it

James Cameron has never been good at writing dialogue. As for writing teenagers, go back and watch Terminator 2. John Connor s dialogue is a big reason why the character is so unlikable.

This film was made in NZ where bro is easily in the top five words used between men any day of the week. Maybe it's rubbed off on Cameron given he's been there so long.

Dude it is in the future, jake could totally tell them because bro is used in the past. Man, i hate it when people dont think about it. It is a fantasy not reality.

It takes you on a ride

I didn't like it. The story was shit. Dumb smart whale, dumb kids. No fresh ideas, even the villain was brought back. Visual effects were great, though.

They were speaking Na vi and it is being presented in English. I agree that they were using some Na vi word which roughly translates to Bro in english
