drookor: I find it strange that the original series was never mentioned in these comparisons. You contrast the movie and the Netflix show, mentioning only once the fact that Wednesday is drawing more from the original New Yorker comic which the show runners have mentioned is a fact. But not one mention the original series that was more a influence on the movies, than the comic was. Which is the main reason for the differences between the two takes of the characters.
