Melody is a daughter of a Disney Princess and was from a sequel so unfortunately no. Mulan is literally the only princess with the hero requirement despite she nearly became an empress in Mulan 2. Kida is probably my 3rd favorite considering she doesnt need a man to save her and is probably the fiercest princess (yes more than Mulan who used her brains to defeat the huns) but she also saved her entire world from a freaking volcano and almost died being bonded to the heart of Atlantis. Shes also the FIRST Disney queen, NOT Elsa! And she is also very passionate and kind, considering she healed Milos scratch and shes never seen anyone outside of Atlantis, and shes determined to save her kingdom from starvation. Not to mention its so adorable in comparison to Pocahontas and John Smith she and Milo can speak in Atlantian, and she actually is attracted to Milo not because she was in love but he knew more about her world than she did, including she couldnt read anything. I dont really count Elwonry because she only mentions it once, and at the end they arent even headed towards her kingdom. Agreed with Megara, despite she isnt a favorite she is very sassy and actually died protecting Hercules. I think Esmerelda for a time was a Disney Princess, but same problem with Kida, her movie didnt perform as well. Shes a very kind and compassionate angel who calls Frollo on his bullsht, and doesnt even become frightened when seeing Quasis face, instead she protects him. Honestly its a bit sad they didnt become a couple, considering in the original Phoebus was actually kinda a jerk and poor Quasi actually died grieving her in his arms.

I feel like many people dont know this but Disney can use Giselle in merchandising and as a parks character as long as shes marketed in her animated form. Its not that Amy Adams royalties are too high, its just not worth paying when you have a whole roster of princesses that are free for interpretation. Its still not fair though, I love her character. With enough love from fans though, Giselle, Kida, Megara and Esmeralda could all be added if there is enough support from fans so that Disney knows they can profit off those characters. They only dont include them because they dont see much attention/love for those characters or their films didnt do so well in ticket sales, therefore the character is not popular enough. But recently the Disney Store has released new Megara and Esmeralda fashion dolls because of fan outcry. Sounds pretty awesome.

if they made a movie abapation of sofis the first, swan princess odette, kilala princess, aida, hebe & elena of avalor could make them put in disney princess lineup. they could make a non disney princess line up & put those that are not human or were in sequels but have the disney princess qualities make up a good sized amount of the positions like nala [lion king], kiara [lion king 2], melody [little mermaid 2], maid marian [robin hood], neytiri [avater], princess atta [bugs life], jane [peter pan 2], princess rosie from princess protection program, star wars princess kneesaa. making remakes of movies for jane porter [tarzan], megera [hercules], kida [atlantis the lost empire], esmerelda [hunchback of notre dame], princess eilonwy [black cauldren], lilo & stich, anastasia [anastasia], anastasia [cinderella 2], & wendy [peter pan]. would be nice if they made film abdaptations of thumbalina, the princess bride, the rescuers, great mouse detective, balto 1-3, titan ae, secret of nimh, the thief & the cobbler, ferngully, road to el dorado of their own version.

I think Sofia from Sofia the First should also be an official Disney Princess too. She's kind, trusting, stubborn when she needs to be, and she's not afraid to take on any challenges that are thrown at her. Sofia also takes anyone's good advice at heart, and heck, she was even the one who freed Princess Elena from her amulet. Plus, the part where she defeats Vor inside her amulet during the series finale is unforgettable, because it shows how far she's come throughout the entire series. I still don't get why Sofia is a Disney Princess who isn't recognized enough. Much like the others on this list, Sofia deserves to join the official Disney Princess club.

Considering the criterias Disney made for what makes an official Disney Princess, I have to wonder why there are some that are not yet among them.
The criterias are as following.
1. The heroine must have human-like qualities.
2. The heroine must star in a Disney animated film.
3. The heroine must not be introduced through a sequel.
4. The heroine must be a Princess by blood, marry into a royal family, or show exceptional heroism.
5. The heroines film must be a commercial success.
With this, how come so many are not official Disney Princesses?

Faline: Am I a joke to you?
In my opinion Faline deserves to be a Disney Princess, she gets left out while other Disney females like Nala, Maid Marian, Kida and Eliowy (Even though I do like them too and their films) get listed as should be princesses but another underrated Disney female is Faline. She being a Disney Princess would give herself and Bambi more recognition. Lastly she does become the new great princess of the forest at the end of Bambi.

I love all those girls (even if I'm not the biggest fan of The Black Caldroun, nor seen Elena of Avalor. They all deserve to be Disney Princesses, especially Megara, Esmeralda (who was originally in the lineup, but only for merchandise, when she should be remembered for being a wonderful role model, Kida, Leia, Jane Porter and Eilonwy. And I really wanted Anna and Elsa to be Disney Princesses!

Besides, I saw a whole lot of disqualifying traits from Elena Flores. Not to mention she already crossed the line when it comes to the villains while giving in to her raw fury. I honestly think Calla from the Gummi Bears Show should be an Official Princess. Yes, shes from a Tv Show, but she hits a lot of the Marks.
Also, Esmeralda and Kida would be interesting to evenly balance out Mulan and Pocahontas.
