I liked Inkheart. I liked The Mortal Instruments City of Bones. I liked some of the honorable mention movies as well. Guess I am in the minority but I am different than most people. I am creative, imaginative and eccentric. Perception is different for different people. Most people have an addiction to technology and social media. They don't even go outside unless they have to. Using your imagination instead of picking everything apart, getting offended by everything, you should instead just enjoy the story. People these days don't seem to do that. They nitpick everything these days. Plenty of things people found offensive in old books and movies are a product of the time. I look at things differently than people these days, look at the story instead of making everything controversial.

I happen to like The Seeker, Inkheart, Mortal Instruments, and I am Number Four!
And I LOVED Ella Enchanted, Percy Jackson, and Vampire's Assistant. Ella Enchanted is one of my favorite movies! I even owned it until my dvd got cracked and it wouldn't play anymore which I am STILL devastated about! And I still own BOTH Percy Jackson movies as well as the Vampire's Assistant!
In other words THIS LIST SUCKS just because they are not like the books that inspired them doesn't mean they are bad movies!

The Mike Myers Cat in the Hat is a disgrace to Cat's reputation. Poor Dr. Seuss must be rolling in his grave and I cannot get over that dirty hoe scene and just the movie in particular. If Cat saw this movie here's what he would say:
I cannot believe what I have become,
A disgusting creep so obnoxious and dumb!
Me saying I'm not so good at rhyming?
Hey, I can do it, with perfect timing!
This pile of garbage is such a disgrace,
It really spits in my creator's face.

If anyone's ever read Darren Shan's Vampire Saga then they would know just how far removed from the book series the movie was. It was originally set in England, with a really dark tone (darker than Goosebumps or A Series of Unfortunate Events, full of horror, and pretty terrifying. NOT a comedy set in a sunny part of the US. It was a disgrace. Has Hollywood not yet learnt to stop 'adapting' books so much that they flop on the screen?

Ella Enchanted, Cat In The Hat, Inkheart and The Mortal Instruments, The Golden Compass, Eragon, The Giver, Percy Jackson, I Am Number Four? Pretty much ALL of these- I loved growing up, and considered them some of the best movies- although perhaps thats because I didnt read the book versions. (Besides The Giver, which I still love both versions)

Yes the book and film for Ella Enchanted are completely different but I honestly love the movie. Also because of Ella Enchanted it introduced me to the actor Hugh Dancy and I say thank goodness for that, because it helped me appreciate his acting in the show Hannibal.

Though I agree with the Cat in the Jat being on this list. I've always hated these books and making it into a movie is just adding more spam to the garbage heap that is Dr. Seuss

I enjoyed The Golden Compass as a kid and still do as an adult. And not just because Samuel Elliot stars in it. And I liked Ella Enchanted and still do.

10: 23 The producers behind the film cared less about the Dr. Seuss story, anyway and more on making money for themselves with unwanted innuendos.

If the movie based on Dugald A. Steer's Dragonology franchise gonna be like any of these cheap and respectless sell-outs, i'm gonna be pissed.

. for a video that promised to deliver the worst 'children's book adaptations, to say they failed to deliver would be an understatement.

I didn't know Ella Enchanted was based on a book, love that movie. I hope Eragon gets the HBO treatment like The Golden Compass
