These are the songs we blasted in the 2000s! For this list, well be breaking down songs that came out between 2000 and 2009 that have continued to permeate the pop culture stratosphere. Weve included songs like Welcome to the Black Parade, Hips Dont Lie, Soak Up The Sun, Gold Digger, Hey Ya! and more!

I'm sorry there is a WHOLE HOST of songs/artists that should have hit honorable mentions which you didn't even scratch the surface for the 2000s as a kid who was born in the '80s and grew up in the '90s and 00's I am seriously offended that you missed Usher, Linkin Park, Backstreet Boys, Fallout Boy, Blackstreet, Nelly, DMX, Eminem, Britney, Pink, Avril Lavigne, Nickelback, The fact that Flo Rider who has had MORE number 1's than most that were on this so-called list and he landed in the honorable mentions rather than on the list! Are you kidding me! Oh and don't even get me started on the fact you overlooked Pitbull, Lunchmoney, and the other boys from the 305 who've had massive number 1's on billboard lists!

I dont know how this list came about but it doesnt reflect any of the songs/performers that I would have selected or agreed with. I love songs and pieces from damn near any genre or sub genre you could list (the exceptions being yodeling and polka) yet none of the list stood out for this particular superlative list.
This list reminds me of hearing movie critics. youll have a hand full of people whos opinions rarely match the core audiences the films are targeted for.

I've never heard any of these songs,
but I know
Cause youre hot then youre cold
Youre yes then youre no
Youre in then youre out
Youre up then youre down
Youre wrong when its right
Its black and its white
We fight we break up
We kiss we make up

I don't agree with this list! There are many song that I didn't even know. and sooo many songs were not even mentioned! Like songs from The Pussycat Dolls, The Black Eyed Peas, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears. and many more. Their songs really rock till this day
reply

Puts beyonce flo rida shakira and songs that people are sick of them by now but forgets green day gorillaz blink 182 and ms jackson by outkast which i think is much more better then a depressing song like hey ya (listen to the lyrics)

This was a biased list. Umbrella was amazing for a few years, but Mr. Brightside is still played by artists at their concerts until this day. Britney dominated the 2000s also. Where is she?
reply

Yeah Beyonce song crazy in love alwayways makes me wanna shake my booty. And I'm gonna soak up the sun kind of mix with Hilary duff sony I'm casting the sun. I never get six of these songs.
reply

Replace Hips Don't Lie with any of the honorable mentions and get rid of that racist clown Kanya West or Yah or whatever they call him now. All his music stinks. Everything else is great.
reply

I think we live in different world although we are in the same world. Some songs I didn't know lol bc I didn't live in US. I though the list would be for worldwide but it's not.
reply

I think this is just a terrible list. I think some of the Honorable Mentions were better than the #1 song in terms of current play on the radio or in the clubs.
reply

Is it because I'm Aussie that I don't know the Sheryl Crow song? How's that song above Hips Don't Lie? Also where's Miss Spears?
reply

Why isnt Linkin Park on this list there are still many people that listen to them and Numb even has over a Billion views
reply

I'm very glad Mr Brightside made it to the list but what about Sugar We're Going Down? Come on guys, everyone knows that song.
reply

All 3 of the 'honorable mentions' songs on this list were horrible compared to the main ten listed it was actually jarring
reply

Ya there are like 4 here that I agree with. And Rolling stone is a terrible source of what is popular. Just my two cents
reply

Before hips don't lie, Shakira was already a household name because of whenever, wherever.
And this list sucks

reply

I absolutely despise soak up sun song. I worked retail for years and this fricken song played several times a day.
reply

I will never EVER get sick of any song by MCR. WTTBP hits me harder now that my dad just died. Life is fleeting
reply

There's more awesome music that's not include in this list I dont agree some song on this list
Sorry.

reply

When WTTBP came on i genuinely gasped i wasnt expecting to get g-noted lol (not dissapointed tho of course)
reply

the fact that i only saw the clip of umbrella this year for the first time, even tho i know the entire music
reply

Crazy in love should be number 1! Umbrella was never great to me, I honestly cant stand the song lol!
reply

Tom Holland's performance on Lip Sync Battle didn't hurt Rhianna's popularity with Umbrella either.
