The first one is a masterpiece - A dynamic, well developed plot, great, fast-paced action, personable, well-defined characters, the best kind of steady stream of humour you can expect from animated family movies, mature themes such as being stuck in a marital rut, a mid-life crisis, yearning for the glory days, dealing with the problems that come with hyperactive and frustrated, or shy, insecure children. On top of the unique family aspect regarding superheroism, which only really occurs with The Incredibles and the Fantastic Four, there's a Simpsons style satirisation of superhero storytelling and comic book fandom.
The second one naturally feels less impressive due to having a simple plot - There's nothing wrong with that, it's pleasant and even feels like relaxing downtime after the recent and stressful events of the first movie, being wonderfully suitable too. I used to think it's great as it performs its simple plot to the highest level of excellency - The action, family dilemmas, humour, and villain are all generally first rate (the twist with the villain is a bit obvious, but it works, and the film is well paced. However, for some bizarre reason, the satirisation aspect that added a fantastic layer to the original has now been done away with. I thought, perhaps Syndrome allowed that plot to work well as he really encompassed that theme in the film as the main villain of it, by being an overzealous, obsessive superhero nerd, with priorities way out of whack. However, now I see that things could've been done with the new superheroes - There could be a main hero and sidekick dynamic with two of them, that parodies Batman and Robin, or a powerful superhero like Superman, who has super-strength, can fly, and has laser vision, could have a weakness like kryptonite - Let's say he's allergic to cryonite peanuts (a parody of kryptonite) as it makes him swell up and be weak, and he could be a show-off who then gets made fun of by others, as he flees helplessly from the weakness, creating an entertaining dichotomy - Jack Jack has many powers, so another Super having a few wouldn't seem far-fetched. Evelyn and Winston could've given Elastigirl her own Bat signal, testing it out, and the conversation could go like this -
Elastigirl: What kind of self-absorbed, narcissistic superhero would want that? No way! Just call me, if you need me. Phones exist and are super easy to use. This is a no-brainer.
Winston: Well, it's to give people hope.
Elastigirl: Everyone has a TV. Everyone watches the news. Just press the on button and a number button for the destination. Again, clearly a no-brainer. Indisputable logic, really.
Therefore, I think Incredibles 2 is very good, but The Incredibles is a masterpiece.

I really enjoyed The Incredibles and lo the many 14 years it took for a sequel I expected The Incredibles 2 to be every bit as good as the original. After all, they had more than plenty of time to draft a fine storyline and to develop and flesh out all characters to the degree needed. I liked the sequel but while it should have been as good as the original, given the time to pick up the script and animation storyboard every now and then, sadly it wasn't. The very fact that so many said this was better in the original and that was better in the sequel bears this out. I do hope that they make another movie or, lacking that. do as was done with Big Hero 6 ie. make it into a TV serial, but only if all production values are high. Often when working at home or taking a power nap I'll have The Incredibles on in the background as white noise. It's just such an all-around great movie. For me, it's Pixar's finest effort, but that's just me.
Just F. Y. I.: The Incredibles 2, from 2018 and in competition with all the great superhero movies since, still holds the highest opening weekend grossing record, just about 20 million ahead of what other animated sequel? Why Pixar's own Finding Dory! I hope Incredibilians everywhere enjoy the two movies as much as I do.

I would most likely think that the First Incredibles was focusing on the plot story more darker yet it has original plots to it, The movie was about Bob, and The Second incredibles was about Helen, The incredibles 2 was most likely action and has funny humor than the first one
I wouldn't be too surprised if pixar is going to make a third movie for the incredibles but this time, focusing on both the main character's Children, Violet being a pre-teen and Dash being around violet's age while jack-jack is around Dash's age it would be pretty interesting to see them grow up and now have full superhero experiences and they're parents being proud for them

Awesome! I see that this is a comparison of two of my favorite Pixar films (which are the first Incredibles, which is The Incredibles, and the second Incredibles, which is Incredibles 2!
Did you know that.
Rounds in which the original is the winner are: Comedy, Action and Villain
Rounds in which the sequel is the winner are: Animation and Story
The winner overall is The Incredibles!
The loser overall is Incredibles 2!
This video makes me think the original is better than the sequel due to the final score being a 3-2 win for the original movie!

I liked both movies a lot, but Syndrome is definitely a better villain. He was someone you could identify with and you actually kind of felt bad for him or at least felt like Mr. Incredible really was a little responsible for what happened. In Incredibles 2, Screenslaver is a cool villain but the surprise was dumb because it was someone nobody really cared about. I think it would've been cooler if the rest of the movie revolved around Underminer, but I liked that he got away and the family had to deal with the repercussions of failing to catch him.

While the animation may be better in the 2nd, I don't really like its presentation. For many sequels, they take out some of the grittiness and made the visuals overall brighter and I just dont like it. It looks less mature as well. I'd prefer if they just kept the same palette. In another sequel where this happened it was Hoodwinked 2. There is little difference between the various Toy Story movies, why did they have to change the look here? Animation visual doesnt have to change, just the quality can be different.

I like the story line of the first one although everything else I like the second. I like how the second one almost everyone get their shine unlike the first movie where it mostly focused on bob. The second movie focuses on helen yet the kids and all other supers are involved and I get to see more diverse power which is cool.
On the personal level my obsession with elastigirl is too real so ima have to go with incredible 2

I do prefer The Incredibles but I still think Incredibles 2 is almost as good. I honestly think Incredibles 2 has a better concept and idea but the story for the Incredibles was executed just perfectly. My only complaint with Incredibles 2 was I wish the final battle was maybe around 5-10 minutes longer. and finally, a comment section that treats both movies fairly instead of just saying The Incredibles had better.

I prefer The Incredibles 1. The Incredibles 2 started off good and was pretty fun to watch for the first half of the film, but then it just went downhill. Spoiler warning
And I thought that battle at the end on the ship was pretty lame. The end fight against the giant omnidroid in The Incredibles 1 was was more epic.

They made jack jack so powerful that the family aren't unique in their own way anymore, I loved that before he had powers they all had their each own unique power that makes them significant to the whole family, now that jack jack has almost all of their powers is just Jack jack became like A Mary Sue for me.

tbh the first Incredibles movie was pretty good, but Id have to disagree with the round concerning the fight scenes. I mean, the jungle scenes are still one of Pixars best, but I loved watching the kids trying to fight the hypnotized supers and watching elastic girl have more time on screen to fight

No doubt that the original movie's way better than the sequel. The sequel plays it too safe and it feels like the first movie but only changed the focus being on Elastigirl. It's a shame that the sequel didn't live up to the high expectations. It had a lot of potential and they wasted it

Incredibles 2 is a complete betrayal of the original. It serves no purpose, incredibles is a superhero dissection, incredibles 2 is a generic super hero. Also incredibles 2 has a meh story while the original is one of the best super hero stories of all time

Incredibles 1 & 2 are kinda like Zombieland and Zombieland: Double Tap for me, since I grew up with it I think the first one is always gonna hold a special place in my heart which will make me prefer it but the second movie was still an amazing follow up

The 2nd one actually taught us more of a lesson, had much better fight scenes, better animation, a better story, far better action cause the fight scenes were more thoughtful and had a cooler aspects of usage of their powers so the 2nd one for me

I loved both movies, but I doubt I'll be watching Incredibles 2 again any time soon. Screen Slaver is so SCARY! I mean, that MASK! She looks ready to murder me! Darn thing gave me nightmares for a week.

The moment it came down to the villain, everyone knew who was going to win this.
Although the way they worded it made it seem like they went back on their No Nostalgia rule.
