I think with the whole grace storyline about her father (even though i found the whole show ridiculous) made a bit of sense, because it did kind of reflect the idea of being so religiously indoctrinated that you can't see that things can be just horribly coincidental and not an aspect of some divine power. as immature as it seems, it does make a lot of sense for someone heavily raised in a religious enviroment (especially at an emotional age of a teenager. The whole gossip girl thing, eh, i hated how they did the dan reveal mostly because i knew it wasn't planned from the beginning. i think if they started the show with some idea of who it was going to be, it would have been more cohesively done. Rory's whole storyline has always divided me. I think as a young girl i didn't understand it, but the older I did begin to understand it. I worked toward something for a long time, but trying to understand working towards a goal only to get older and begin questioning to why it made sense to work for that same goal (like trying to understand why i wanted that goal, and why i should be working toward it) and beyond that, I was raised in a loving family where i felt no need ot rebel, i got to an adult phase and even though i had no deeper issue with my family, I think i just felt there had to be a time to understand myself and why I was making my choice. Even if I completely want the same goal later on.

damn near EVERYTHING Rory did from the moment she slept with Dean ( who was MARRIED at the time ) felt out of character for her IMO. Once Logan entered the picture things only went downhill for her character development. even going into the Year In The Life continuation where she keeps forgetting about the guy she's actually dating ( which hurts me even more since he has the same first name as me. too real: / ) while repeatedly sleeping with a now engaged Logan ( who's most likely the father of Rory's baby. Between her relationship with Logan and her time living in the pool house & engaging in her grandparents' lifestyle she became such a selfish, entitled shell of the girl we knew.
also I don't know if it counts but since you mentioned Buffy I'd like to throw in that the entire 4th season of Angel was a terrible idea

Penn Badgely said it himself though, it made no sense for ANY of the characters to be Gossip Girl. So no matter who they picked to be Gossip Girl, there would be people complaining about how it doesn't make sense. They purposely made it that way. And no matter who was Gossip Girl there would have been instances of them trashing their closest friends and family. And honestly, I think with how they presented it, Dan actually made the most sense as he was the writer of the group, and they also subverted expectations since he's a man which I enjoyed. I guess I'm in the minority, apparently, on having loved the ending. The ending wasn't perfect and yes there were plot holes, but like I said, it would have been the same, no matter who they revealed as Gossip Girl.

Should have dropped the Gilmore Girls one for literally anything from PLL. Rory dropping out of Yale did make sense for her character. She was sheltered. And she was someone that never really failed before, so failing at her first attempt at her dream career and subsequently deciding to take a break and figure out if that's really what she should be doing with her life seemed like a reasonable story arc. And Lorelai and her getting into a huge fight about it was also realistic. It showed the consequences of what being sheltered and being praised for everything you do does to children, and how blind the parents can be to that.

I agree with the dog eating Dan's new heart. That was weird and I remember that. Peyton was having pregnancy complications and Lucas took her to hospital. The person carrying Dan's new heart trips and the heart falls out of the container. A dog at the hospital decides to eat it. That moment is definitely one of those moments you have to see to believe or be there to understand.

Buffybot was awesome. She was so hilariously annoying.
Rory dropping out of Yale seemed perfectly in character to me. She had never had criticism for her academic achievements, or any real rejection of any kind, and then she was told she didnt have the stones for a career she had been working towards her whole life by someone with a lot of power in that industry. A massive overreaction like dropping out of college seems perfectly in keeping with that kind of body blow to your future plans.

ok but srsly why do people read riverdale the same way as a teen drama show? for me with names like edgar evernever they purposefully dont try to be serious but a little timeless kitsch-ey which is why i never am bothered by its absurdness. or the uberdramatic way cheryl speaks. lets say pll however started as a regular teen drama mystery show but then had this spencer twin story that was absurd.

Why is a brainwashed teenage girl believing in her life-long brainwashing on this list as an insane plotline? Of course Grace is going to think shes being punished by God, she was raised by hyper-religious parents; that is what she has had hammered into her brain since before she could walk.

For dan being gossip girl, i could understand him starting it until the dan and Blair accident. From then on, multiple took on the mantle. Him writing the articles could have come from a place of hurt and not being gossip girl. Either way, it is ridiculous.
The only bright side of rory quitting Yale is that amazing speech by Jess. Got to love him.

It made sense Rory eventually crumbled. She has so much pressure in high school and was constantly told how amazing she was her entire life. The first person to tell her that she is not good enough made her fall apart- and especially someone so important to her. She lost who she was and it really showed in her chaotic character development.

Am I the only one who doesn't think that Gilmore Girls should be in this list? I get it that Rory is a teen for the first three seasons but since the show doesn't revolve around her and her friends and lovers, it shouldn't be considered as a teen drama.

making Dan gg was last minute so thats why it made so sense. It would be better if they didnt reveal it cause it didnt make sense for any of them to be it. Dan being gg make no sense and wasnt in character at all so I try to not count it as canon lol.

I am not a fan of anything with Rory and Logan. Nope. I just cant. Everything after she met him is so rough and ridiculous. I understand people dropping out of college, but she dropped out after Logans trash dad said one thing to her. I cant.

Rory loved school, but she was very insecure the whole series. Also she idolized Mitch, he was the top tier man in the business, when he tells her she doesn't have it, it makes sense for her character to freak out they way she did.

Im sorry but it DOES make sense that Dan is gossip girl- that finale is so good and it explains it really well. Obviously theres some plot holes but it wouldnt make sense for anyone else to be gossip girl

I love One Tree Hill, but Dan's heart getting eaten by a dog makes me laugh so much to this day. Seriously, what were they thinking? Also, all of Riverdale plot lines belong on this list.
