I hate how Rory's boyfriends are pitted against one another like she's some prize to be won. A lot of the time, Rory was the one who messed up the relationships. Like with Jess how she just expected him to do whatever she wanted like Dean did. She got mad when he didn't call, knowing he was working all day and instead of just going to the diner to confront him, she sat at home and resented Jess. Or like with Logan when she wrote that article mocking the rich people at the party when she was basically one of them. Also with Logan when she made fun of Logan's girl colleague Bobby for being friendly and glamorous. There is also the fact that she completely led Dean on, slept with him while he was married, and she and Lorelai actually got mad at Lindsey for being angry with Rory. I mean Rory was so entitled and she just expected everyone to adore her. She was so shocked when William rejected her because unlike everyone else, he didn't immediately fall at her feet.

#5: so yeah Luke could have handled that better. April did just fall out of the sky and the timing couldnt have been worse. Luke was obviously struggling to emotionally process that he had a 12 year old daughter he never knew existed and overnight his entire world revolved around her and he forgets Lorelei exists. Lorelei didnt handle it well either, feeling like Luke was choosing April over her. But the real villain there was Anna. She deliberately kept April from Luke and all to herself. Anna never wanted April to meet Luke. Even when Luke puts in all the work trying to bond with April from scratch, Anna tried to sabotage Aprils budding relationship with Luke and gaslight Luke into thinking hes a bad person and a bad father. Anna didnt even care how her actions were hurting Lorelei. Considering how well Lorelei understood Anna, she totally could have called out Anna for how she was treating Luke.

Ok I gotta say this. Why does the list have 3 guys who were in 1 to 3 episodes? Rune, Graham, and William are SUPER minor characters that their actions had little to no effect on the greater story. Like it is ok for Rory to be rejected/have a bad date. What happened to talking about Richard? He did some not great things that lead to major issues/changes in the show. Manipulating Rory into taking an interview at Yale or even leaving Emily out of the loop about his lunches with Ms Loot (although I don't think the lunches themselves are bad just him not telling her)
Also I liked Chris. He was a great father to Gigi. I just think he made some bad decisions. So saying everything about Christopher was bad is a little off the mark imo. All in all I think this video missed the mark a bit.

Definitely disagree both with Jason suing Richard being wrong (I agree that Lorelai can't be with him on that basis, but Jason IS right in his actions) and that Luke should've told Lorelai immediately after learning about April. He should have told her earlier, of course. He should have made it clear to Anna, that Lorelai is not just a stranger. But he had EVERY right to first come to terms with his own feelings. He took too long, he should have visited both a therapist and a lawyer to work through that, as soon as possible, but being overwhelmed and needing a moment is completely human AND a partner is not entitled to be informed of everything immediately.

I'm sorry, what even is this list? Jason suing Richard was the ONLY OPTION he HAD! Richard took EVERYTHING from him and left him with a worthless company. If anything Jasons father went too far. I'm not a fan of Jason, I really didn't like him and Lorelai together but putting him on a The worst. list doesn't sit right with me.
Also, why is Trevor a dishonorable mention! Besides from sitting next to Rory instead of opposite of her, which is really weird, I must admit, the guy didn't do anything wrong? Rory was awful on that date. She didn't listen to him and forgot everything he told her! I get that she was nervous but he shouldn't be on the list.

Honestly I think Dean rushed into the marriage with Lindsey as a way to cope with his breakup with Rory and he just wanted to replace with someone hoping it would help him move on while he still had feelings for Rory. It was such a shit move and I felt so bad for Lindsey cuz she was trying so hard to make the marriage work and dean was so rude and unreasonable. Lorelei was amazing for reminding Rory about sleeping with a married man but she shouldve been a bit more motherly in this cuz clearly Rory didnt learn her lesson and was still victimizing herself

Wait am I wrong but Luke not telling Lorelei about April not a huge problem, he literally got told hes a dad, like his character is about responsibility and caring, so dumping him with a preteen daughter he had to go through it first, yes he waited too long, but Lorelei also had a huge list of things she never told him before this, anyone would need time to think and its very personal that he never knew he had a whole other family while he was just about to start a new one, and in the end he took accountability

Okay most of the time I can't stand Christopher but to dub everything christopher as the worst. No. 2-5 absolutely deserve this list and the the jackson honorable mention. But the bottom half are a reach.
I'd maybe go with Richard screwing over Jason vs Jason sueing Richard. And like another comment said, Richard continually seeing his old girlfriend behind Emily's back. And Zach. how could you not count that horrible power trip in front of the label and subsequently breaking up with Lane.

Justice for Jason Stiles! He was the best boyfriend of the bunch: emotionally mature, financially stable, adored Lorelai and kept up with her intellectually. Plus, who wouldn't want to sleep in that fabulous guest room? He was even right to sue Richard, whose funeral he's big enough to attend to pay his respects to Lorelai. Every time I rewatch, I think it's such a shame he didn't get a longer arc.

Rory and Logan are BOTH at fault for their affair. Same with Rory and Dean. Yes the men have committed to people they dont love, but Rory knows perfectly well that they are taken and still slept with them. Sorry but shes just as much at fault as the men. Also, how was Trevor the worst on his date with Rory? They had no chemistry, but I dont remember him doing anything particularly bad

okay not being interested in Rory is not a crime. And Jason literally had every right to sue Richard. He literally cut him out of a business they were supposed to start together and tried to ruin his reputation and livelihood. and although Christopher was mostly the worst, he definitely wasn't an absentee parent to Gigi. He raised her by himself when her mother abandoned her.

honestly Ricard lied to Emily for 40 years of seeing someone his mother wants him to marry and even after the letter of his mother saying Ricard marry someone else besides Emily is heartbreaking. that doesn't excuse Emily for being awful at everything, but Richard is at his worst when he lied to Emily and think it's okay. which is why they got divorced later.

Jess forced himself on rory (crime) and then blame her for not sleeping with him, and then ran away without telling her, came back to drop a bomb on her saying I love you and leave anyway. It doesn't end there no! He came back after a while and ask rory to drop college and runaway with him!
Tell me please how isn't he the no. 1 in this list?

Jason suing Richard was completely valid. Richard didn't just betray him, he ruined is career and by proxy his life and didn't even care. Jason didn't have a choice if he wanted to keep a career. Richard did something horrible and deserved just consequence. Lorelai should've stood by Jason who was wronged by her father.

Jess pressuring rory was definitely no. 1. He literally ran away from town without telling her goodbye let alone apologize for his abusive behaviour. To all those people saying jess changed so much i dont remember him ever even acknowledging what he did in the entire show, it's not a small incident you can just forget.

How is William''s not wanting to get coffee the worse? I took that as a simple not interested or not wanting to date/focus on studies thing. No big deal. As for Luke's No cellphone rule, it also isn't a big deal and respectful to other customers. Back then, not everyone liked them before smart phones were a thing.

I am actually Team Christopher. He grew up different and had other values. Lorelei wanted nobody in her life when she took Rory with her on her journey to be independet. He did not hold back, he thought marring her was the right choice back then. I thought he was a better partner to her than Luke.

William shouldn't be on this list. He's completely allowed to say no without a reason (just like a woman would be) and he was very nice and polite about it. What happens with him later is a simple case of miscommunication and actually, Rory comes out as worse in that episode than he does

My biggest thing w the whole Marty storyline is that yes, she rejects him, but arguably he's more hurt that she likes his bully. The show just wants us to ignore that part of their history by labeling him as a creep: /
But yea overall, not one of your strongest videos lmfao

Feel like the dude only said no to the coffee with Rory cause he already went through a similar experience where the girl who asked him out turned out to be a stalker? Maybe he really liked Rory but from life experience was like cant trust laundromat gals, theyll ruin your life

I don't really understand the logic here. Rory is not a god, if someone doesn't want to go out with her they don't need to! How is that even on this list? People get rejected all the time, just because she's The Rory Gilmore does not mean everyone has to be in love with her.

To be fair, Christopher only showing up to cause drama is bad writing. It's just not believable that chris would go months at a time barely talking to Lorelai only to show up when she's dating someone because he realized for the billionth time that he's in love with her.

The thing about the whole Logan/Odette thing- its not 100 percent sure that Odette was in love with Logan. When Logan responds Its the dynastic plan, it kind of made me think it was a marriage of convenience. I refuse to watch AYITL again to find out though!

Nothing wrong with rejecting a date with someone you dont know. If the genders had been reversed that one would never have been on this list. Especially when you find out he had a stalker and was probably being cautious. Big eyeroll on that bad take.

If my boyfriend/husband told me he was going to get a vasectomy and I got pregnant because he didn't get it and he never told me, he'd be out of my life so fast and I'd be leaving that kid with him too cos I never signed up for it but he did when he lied.

Marty is horrible and immature for feeling absolutely used by Rory, when she was bored or waiting for Logan, but this list doesn't mention Logan humiliating Jess, saying secrets when Rory asked him not too. Luke constantly keeping secrets from Lorelai?

But you don't need a reason to say no to someone, William was well within his right to say that to her and that doesn't make him a bad guy. Also, Richard a( lied to Emily about having lunches with Penilynn Lott & b) retired and didnt tell Emily a thing

Yeah, no. Jess deserves the top spot far over the Dean situation. He continued his pressuring when Rory was with Dean in the very beginning. That was very much the worst and THAT'S when Rory started the major self absorption.
