So many who complained about the trailer are forgetting some key points. First, you aren't supposed to see in the way a human perspective. Second, the musical even in concept is whimsical and strange, so much so that most refused to back the first production in 1981. Finally, many who first tried and created new mediums and perspectives were often mocked before their creation was recognized as genius. So why are you mocking something you have yet to experience?

I'm kind of disappointed because based on the trailer alone, it seems like they made a couple of big role changes. Munkustrap and Demeter are not given the same all star treatment as Rum Tum Tugger and Bombalurina (even though they're both main characters on stage, and Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer are now both males?
The only thing I'm happy about is that I get to see the legend that is Sir Ian McKellen play Gus: ')

Its funny because my former high school drama teacher hates this musical. I never seen this musical, but I kind of want to see it and to understand why my high school drama teacher hates it. She never mentioned why she hates it. I wonder how she reacted when she first heard about the film adaption of Cats, she would definitely be like NO GOD! NO GOD PLEASE NO! NO! NO! NOOOOOOOOOO!

It actually looked surprisingly good and I think all the dislikes were because of all the reactions on how the cats looked. I am wanting to see this movie mainly because of Taylor Swift and Judi Dench and tbh i never been a hardcore fan of the original Cats or a big fan of musicals. But honestly, this movie will probably be a great end for 2019. It really looks good to me.

I only saw the 1998 direct-to-video film, and gosh, that was back when I was in high school. Still, I credit that film for both introducing to CATS, and for preparing me for when the trailer for this upcoming film dropped. So, yeah, I seriously wasn't at all terrified by what I saw, and I'm certainly willing to give it a fair chance.

With the dumb comments I've read and even heard in videos the only think I can say is to look up the Toby Keith song 'The Critic'. This movie is work of art! Someone was cast for a part based on their talent/performance for the part.
So to those who just want to criticize it, stay home and rewatch The Simpsons or Chucky!

Since I was 10 years old I wanted to see the musical Cats. Now, 30 years later, I got my chance to go and went. Not much later I learned there is a movie made of Cats and I am very excited to see it in the cinema. There are a lot of awesome people cast for this movie, so bring it on!

I just saw this movie. Overall, the acting and singing parts are pretty good. Although, the visual affects are very strange. The cats are a little too human like, and everything looks very fake. I wouldn't recommend seeing this unless you are bored out of your mind. like really bored.

Id give this film a chance at least. I thought watching people on stage dressed as cats were weird too. Cats, the entire musical, is weird as fck, and while I somehow have even less of an understanding of whats going on through the whole thing I still had fun.

Im about to see CATS tomorrow. Super excited cuz of the CGI. I hear they brought it out of the uncanny valley. Of course, seeing that Im legally blind, such details are less obvious. Grateful for descriptive video!

I just saw the movie and I loved it! Never thought I'd cry in a movie about cats, but Jennifer Hudson did it for me. Have never been able to see the Broadway play so this was a treat for me. I would go again!

Im going to see this film on Christmas day, cant wait, I love musicals. Ive seen the play twice over the years. I honestly never thought theyd make a film out of it, to complicated, so many great dancers.

They did Macavity dirty in this film. The 1998 version scared the crap out of me and still creeps me out to this day. Macavity in this film looks very bland and not creepy at all.

I'm actually really excited to see this. Cats is my favorite musical of all time. I own a VHS and a DvD copy of the 1989 version and I still watch it to this day. Can't wait!

You cannot compare the faces of the movie and the original West End musical. The West End production make-up is beautiful and moving, the movies' looks bizarre and wrong.
