Sometimes the best moments werent in the script. With so much talent behind the most iconic Disney films, there are bound to be improvised moments, and these are the best of the best. For this list, were looking at live-action and animated scenes where actors ad-libbed a line, an entire scene or multiple scenes that made it into the finished Disney product. However, well be excluding moments from Marvel & Star Wars films, as those may need to become lists of their own. Perhaps the next top 10 Disney video you guys should do is Top 10 Disney Scenes that were Deceptively Hard to Animate. The Hades entry on this list reminded me that it was a nightmare for animators to animate Hades' mouth movements because of James Woods' lightning fast line delivery haha.
There are plenty of moments that could make such a list; Beauty and the Beast's CGI ballroom/hand-drawn characters mashup scene, The Lion King's stampede scene taking 3 solid years to animate due to the CGI stampede sequence needing to be coded from scratch, the wet hair in The Incredibles, Snow White being the first human animated character to seriously show an attempt to mimic realistic proportions and movement.
Idk, I'm an animation trivia geek.

Omg lol I've never heard if my head wasn't attached to my neck, before zootopia. A few years back when people would say, I'd lose my head if it weren't attached to my body, I started saying, your head isn't attached to your body. It's attached to your neck. Your neck is attached to your body.
Now I say. No, you'd lose your body. Your head is where your brain is. You're always with your head. Your body wouldn't be able to find you.

Robin Williams was a guest on The Carol Burnett Show, and they did a sketch taking place at a viewing or funeral. Then he wanted to redo the sketch. Since this was a live show, they had no chance to rehearse what Robin wanted to do. Carol Burnett was game, but you could see some real fear in her eyes when they announce they were repeating the sketch.
I found the clip. Enjoy!

I know Robin Williams in Aladdin was number one on the list. but the didnt even mention the intro to Aladdin. The merchant who is selling the lamp and telling the story was voiced by Robin Williams and everything he was showing before the lamp was just random shit on a table in a studio that Robin Williams was trying to sell. It will not break, I guarantee. it brroke

Some of these improvised lines I remember as a child. Like Lion King when I got hiccups from laughing the first time I saw the live bait part. And it just as funny why the hyenas ran away themselves from Pumba's gas in Lion King 1 & 1/2. That's why my favorite line of Timon and Pumba was Nobody move. This pig's loaded. you forgot to mention on this list.

Also, when Disney movies were hand drawn using reference people, something more like the model would be added. Like Ariel's scene where she was frustrated with not being able to explain herself without her voice to Eric and did a side puff to blow her bangs away from her face. That was a habit of the model and added later.

I agree with Robin Williams as number one. It was such an entertaining performance. However, Hades at only 7? Come on, it should have been in second place. Not only did he transform the character he keeps doing the character whenever he's asked decades later because he loves it.

I'm pretty sure that Aladdin shouldn't be on this list because I don't know a single person who didn't know that most of the Genie's dialogue was improvised. I mean, as soon as you know that it's Robin Williams, it's kind of a give-in.

Hades was supposed to be a much more darker and morose character. But after Woods came into the studio to audition for the role, the creators decide to recreate the character to best match Woods' personality and spin on Hades.

Its still fascinating to learn that aside from Cogsworth, David also played Ratcliffe (Pocahontas) and Jumba (Lilo and Stitch. Such an awesome actor! He left good memories in our childhoods.

Haitis is probably my favorite Disney villain. Hes hilarious and sleezy and kinda endearing. But no one beats Robin Williams with improv skills. Phenomenal cosmic power! Itty bitty living space.

You need to change number 1. Anyone who knows Robin Williams style knows that he would improvise wherever he could. So that as much as it pains me to say this he should not have been number 1.

my senior quote in my yearbook is, in fact, just one of the many improvised lines said by Robin Williams in Aladdin. always and forever my favorite actor and character

Ugh, I regret clicking on this video. I knew better. There's SO much explaining. just get to the effing punchline. JFC. That is what we want. Nothing more.

Before it even STARTED I said that basically all of Aladdin was improved due to Robin Williams then it gets to number one and I almost yell CALLED IT!

ironically blue fire is hotter than red fire, but when hadees is mad he turns red, weird ehh it's movie for kids maybe I'm looking too much into it

The Fast Talking Hades is absolutely a improvised sceneAnd the Tea Party too, and it's the same thing for the scenes when Timon was dancing the Hula

Ok so, imma put this in each of your vids until you do it: can you do a dr who one? Favorite aliens favorite doctors, whatever?

Just because a movie makes a lot at the box office doesn't mean anything. You can't get a refund and ticket prices keep going up.

If Robin was Never Jeanie I would not still love Aladdin as much as I do he made that movie & so did Johnny on Pirates
reply

Let's not forget that Robin Williams has basically improvised most of his scenes in Aladdin when went on to play as the Genie.

Well theres the usual, flowers, chocolates promises you dont intend to keep. Love the sardonic humor of this line:

I write this before I watch the video: i will be very VERY disapointed if there is not Robin Williams' Dschinni at Nr. 1
reply

I freaking love the tea party scene I quote it all the time when people have to scooch over to make room for people
reply

Honestly the first PotC could be this whole list because basically every line out of Johnny Depp's mouth was ad-libbed
reply

Robin deserves number 1. He improvised almost all his lines. U cant top that. Jonnhy is too low, hades is def. Too low
reply

I can just imagine the piles of notes made by Aladdin's script supervisor after every Robin Williams recording session
reply

If I ever become an actress/voice actress I wanna come up with improvisations too I think I'd be pretty good at it
reply

In Frozen 2 when Olaf called out Samantha and started laughing, it was actually improvised and the creators loved it.
