I am a near 66-year-old Englishman from London, who, shamefully, has never been to any part of Ireland but this was WONDERFUL. right from the first scene on the bus to the very end. If you ask 100 people they will all give you completely different lists to this Magnum Opus. I liked the touching moment between Grandad and Son-In-Law, the 5 girls called into the Sister's Office and Clare immediately ratting after preaching earlier in the waiting room they stick together. The IRA Guy in the Boot. The Cafe scene with the tearful waitress. THat first Bus scene. The final frozen shot NOT captured in its glory here when Sister Michael catches all 5 kids in awkward situations. I could go on and on. :)

My favorite thing about this show is that I can't decide on the best ten moments, because it has so damn many of them.
The characters are amazing. If all you had were the main girls and James, it would be enough. But the fact that Sister Michael is singularly fantastic, that all of the parents could have a show of their own, and that every time Father Peter shows up, I'm overjoyed because he's emblematic of how many great characters there are?
I agree with all of the moments picked, and more.
You could make a two hour long special out of just the great moments.
Or two seasons.

I love the final scenes of both series 1 and 2. The contrast of them dancing and the bombing with no dialogue was intense. Really showed how despite The Troubles in Northern Ireland, people still went on with their lives. The ending of series 2 was brilliant with Clintons speech being played and ending with no audio. I believe Lisa McGee said the series would end with the Peace Process following the cease fire, so it really sets the scene for the third and final series. Cant wait!

We get a lot of shows here in the U. S, but I have to say that this show Derry Girls is one of the best comedy TV shows that I have ever seen. I could not control my laughing. I was laughing so hard that I thought my stomach was going to burst. These people in this show is the most hilarious actors that I have ever come across in a long time. Everyone is so funny, but the girls and there crazy antics I just can't get enough of. I love this show!

The scene near the end of season 01 episode 6 where we see Sister Michael (Siobhan McSweeney is my new favorite actress) turn and walk away then grab a copy of the banned student magazine has to be one of the most powerfully moving pieces of acting anywhere anytime! No I'm not kidding this is just that good!

The States here, doesn't have anything nearing the poignancy, hilarity and relevancy that this show offers. I stopped watching new shows here awhile back and watch only reruns now. I truly hope the powers-that-be in the world see fit to bring this show here available to all.

Almost all my favorite moments include Clare, especially when she tells Erin she fought that little girl for her spot and Erin responds with something likeDid you fight that wee barn, Clare and Clare is like yeah I sure did and ill fight her again.

Its honestly such a shame that the American/Netflix version of season 1s finale had a music change for Orlas routine. Previously, it was Like a Prayer by Madonna, which fits the choreography and the scene so much better in my opinion

My favorite scene is probably in the I think its ep. 1 but its the fish and chip scene when Gerry is just trying to write down the chippy order and Joe is being his usual hilarious self I cant explain the rest its too funny
