The Amy thing was heartbreaking for 2 reasons
1. The fact she had to go through that as a woman in a male dominated work force its already difficult as is so to have to deal with something so disgusting is so sad
2. It fully explains her character / why she is the way she is, the whole thing with her need for approval from holt and caring so much about what he thinks comes from a place of insecurity cuz the incident made her feel like maybe she wasnt enough / didnt have what it takes to be a Good Detective from her own merit and her Controlling nature isnt just only tied into the whole aspiration to becoming Captain, it also has to do with the fact at that moment she felt powerless and being positions of power Kinda help boost her ego ( if anything was worded improperly or anyone doesnt agree or even has something to add lmk )

Amy's harassment story is awful but what I do like is what Jake says afterwards. He knows how important the case was to her and decides to get her some fresh clothes and a brush for her to brush her hair but only if she wants to. One of the best things about B99 is how to tackle topics like this and racial profiling. I love how supportive the others are towards whoever is at the centre of the situation.

The only one that I dont feel was done well was the whole Jake not wanting kids situation. Its a POV that doesnt get enough attention when theres many valid reasons to it and it felt like instead of giving those reasons and actually going a solid route with it they just called him dumb for most the episode and had a biased debate about it. It shouldve been a multi episode type of thing tbh

You know I like shows like this criminal minds Blue bloods shows that tell you cops are human yes I believe in police reform yes I don't trust cops yes I am black lives matter but that doesn't mean I dance and Cheer and do a little jig when I see a cop get killed I just don't like people that use their authority to get what they want and this show teaches you that not everybody's like that

What about Hitchcock and Skully? They don't get any spotlight except for the rare occasions where they solved Boyle's case or did that major coke bust in the 80s and later revealing that they were protecting Marissa all this time? Qnd they're always disrespected in the precinct even after it was disclosed that Hitchcock had the highest number of arrests in the precinct.

I agree with all of these, but I really wish they'd mentioned the beginning of the 8th season. Rosa was so upset about the George Floyd incident, she quit the force and became a PI invesitgating cases of police abuse. This was the biggest issue tackled by the show, and they didn't pull any punches about it. Especially with Jake's projection and final realization about it.

I'm not surprised that the guy who played the I am Mayhem guy from the All state commercials is playing an absolute douche. Off note, not shocked by the racist cop. That is pretty relevant and will pretty much always be because people will always be bigoted regardless of whether we all look the same. I learned that from a Fairly oddparents episode.

Terry also has signs of PTSD. When Scully's pressure cooker explodes and he says Terry's not gonna die in a stew cooking incident, he's going to die protecting the President! it's possible that Terry has PTSD that was triggered by the sound of Scully's pressure cooker being similar to the sound of gunshots.

the jake and amy disagreeing about kids one always annoys me. jake always talked about being a dad one day. then he suddenly says hes not sure about it? if anything you'd think it would probably be the other way around, with amy being so career driven and having grown up with so many siblings
reply

Both Terry and Amys situations make me both sad and pissed, sad that this is still a thing that people are going through and pissed that there are disgusting people like that out there, these always hit home for me knowing and/or seeing things like this have happened to me or someone I know.
reply

I dont like how Casecation handled the situation because Amys normally a really sympathetic person but she was just insulting and belittling him about what he wanted to say and how his inter generational trauma would affect his relationship with his future child.
reply

I CANT BELIEVE THIS WASNT POINTED OUT! Do none of you remember that time during the episode about jake and Amys debate and children where Amy says she will leave him if he doesnt agree to have kids with her? Go rewatch the episode if you dont believe me.

I love how no matter what difficulty any of the cop faces, even recently with Pimento having momento, Jake is ALWAYS there for them. He is a true friend and no matter how much he jokes around, he is the most genuine and sweetheart of a person
reply

And i can't help thinking about my daughters, and about how someday they might be out looking for their kids moo moo and get stoped by a bad cop. And they probably won't have the cop card to get out of trouble hits where it hurts
reply

Not as emotional, but when Jake punched Jimmy for calling Holt a homophobic slur and Holts reaction when he found out. Seeing how he was treated so poorly when he started his career, you can tell it meant a lot to him.
reply

This post was right, the show was serious many times for its support of women, blacks, Jake being brave and his support of Amy and Holt and Peralta impeccable pair and Jake sometimes deflects from emotions from humour.

I thought #6 would have been much higher, it hits hard. But there was no surprise about #1; every time I watch that season I'll be laughing episode to episode and then oh shit, it's Moo Moo.
reply

I think that instead of them debating whether or not to have kids they shouldve added the episode where they kept trying and couldnt get pregnant I think that would be a better one to list
reply

when terry mentioned his girls' wont be able to play the police card if that ever happens to them in the future, it straight up reminded me of an episode in fresh prince of belair
reply

I was always confused about Jake not wanting kids because hes always had such a positive point about wanting kids before. Theres been multiple instances where he seems to want them.
reply

Thank you, thank you, thank you! For making Terrys Racial pro-filing the no. 1 in the video. It actually made me cry knowing Im half black and my Mum being black.
reply

The Hitchcock and Scully one was sad as well. They used to be amazing and skilled officers before it went down hill from one bucket of chicken
reply

I love rewatching this show but I hate how creepy Gina was with Terry in the earlier seasons, and Boyle with Rosa (at least they confronted it)
reply

I love that Brooklyn 99 is a show about cops and it still found a way to talk about and acknowledge police brutality and racial profiling by cops
reply

When Jake and Amy had to talk about racism to little girls, thought it was so real. Its great to see shows not shy away from those topics
reply

I can't help but feel for Jake in the kid debate. When you have a shitty parent, you're forever worried that you'll end up being one too.
reply

I feel like there is no worst person in the series than the vulture and theres a guy that killed four people and the vulture is a cop
reply

Honestly Brooklyn Nine-Nine has tackled these topics a lot more effectively than the more serious cop shows who tend to over do it
reply

You forgot scully and Hitchcock not mentioning a witness in a case report because he or she is a immigrant and would be deported.
reply

This whole top 10 was a SJWs wet dream. Racism is real and the patriarchy and blah blah blah. Gimme a break with this bs already.
