1. Circle of Life (The Lion King)

The Circle of Life should have been number one. Everything about it is epic. From the first note, your attention is held in a powerful embrace. The harmonies on display are perfect and uplifting. The mixing of languages to set the story in motion is absolutely enthralling. Then factor in the visuals. Wide sweeping shots of the animals gathering on the ground and in the air. The presentation of Simba and all the animals bowing as the chorus rises, engulfing you in peace and power all at the same time and then it all ends with a thunderous drum. if you've seen the Broadway play, you know what I'm talking about.

Things I learnt from these Disney Movies
Little Mermaid: Dreams Come True
Rescuers Down Under: Love Your Friends/Relatives
Beauty And The Beast: Dont be afraid of being odd
Aladdin: Poor people can have happy ending too
The Lion King: Defend what is mine
Pocahontas: Dont judge people by their nationality
The Hunchback Of Notre Dame: Dont judge people by their look
Hercules: Love is Power
Mulan: Be feminist
Tarzan: Care about animals

I 100% agree with this list. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney song. It is one of my favorite moments in any movie ever. The animation is beautiful and the lyrics and fantastic. Bittersweet and strange, finding you can change, learning you were wrong is one of my favorite lyrics in any song ever. Howard Ashman is my hero. And Part of Your World is possibly my second favorite Disney song. So you guys definitely got my top 2 picks in the right spot!

Hellfire, Be Prepared, Be Our Guest, A Friend Like Me, Hakuna Matata, Out There, Heaven's Light, Savages, Circle Of Life, Part Of That World, I'll Make A Man Out Of You, Poor Unfortunate Souls and Show You The World are some of my favourites, Hellfire and Be Prepared are my two absolute favourite Disney songs of all
reply

Be Our Guest & You'll be in my heart are Wonderful. I'm very fond of Colors of the Wind. #5 is cool. Circle of Life is OUTSTANDING. Just like A Whole New World (especially 2019 version with Mena & Naomi, Part of that World is fantastic. Can You Feel the Love Tonight + Hakuna Matata. Beauty and the Beast
reply

Love the other picks but for The Hunchback of Notre Dame spot, I would swap Hellfire for Out There and also they should have been in the honorable mentions their other songs Topsy Turvy, Bells of Notre Dame, A Guy Like You and especially God Help the Outcasts.
reply

Best thing is Beauty and the Beast (1991, Aladdin (1992) and The Lion King (1994) are number one in the box office, worldwide.
Awesome reason for its well deserved awards in Disney history and getting live adaptations in 2017 and 2019

reply

Seriously disappointed that Hellfire was the only Hunchback song on this list, because Out There is an insanely underrated gem. Also, the lack of Goofy Movie songs on this list is also sad, because that is one impressive soundtrack
reply

1) A Whole New World
2) I'm Won't Say I'm in Love
3) Part of Your World
4) Beauty and the Beast
5) Reflection
Honorable Mentions: Be Our Guest, Colors of the Wind, Friend Like Me, Can You Feel the Love Tonight

reply

If were talking visual appeal only, Hellfire shouldve been in the top 3! So intimidating and filled with symbolism and demonic figures it hurts! In that vein it ranks alongside Circle of Life and Beauty & the Beast.
reply

As lovely as, Beauty and the Beast is, I feel that, Circle of Life, should be #1. Though I give kudos to you for acknowledging that the cub seen at the end of the movie is, in fact, Kiara and not her brother.
reply

Feel like every single one of the honorable mentions should have been in the official list. I love Hellfire but that over Can you feel the love tonight? Over Friend Like Me? And where's Kiss the Girl?
reply

The song Hellfire deserved a position more high, and Colors of the Wind too, you didn't have to put the song Tale as old as Time at the first position, you should have put the song The Bells of Notre Dame
reply

Oh come on not only you did Hellfire dirty and the Disney villain song Where should have went in first place you put it this load it's one of the best Disney songs if not the best
reply

i love the song you'll be in my heart and colors of the wind and i'll make a man out of you and the circle of life and a whole new world and part of your world
reply

The hunchback of Notre dame is so underrated imo and probably my favourite. Out there, The bells of Notre dame, hellfire, god help the outcasts. Such a good film
reply

Beauty and the Beast is so romantic song and Emma Thompson voiced and played as Mrs. Potts she sang beautiful voice in real life action movie back in 2017
reply

The Renaissance Disney Songs I love are Be Our Guest, Hellfire, Colors of the Wind, I'll Make a Man Out of You, Circle of Life and Part of Your World
reply

This is a beautiful list, irrespective of the order.
I wish Disney invested more time in animated movies instead of live-action remakes.

reply

I mostly agree. I might choose Out There over Hellfire and I definitely would include Go The Distance in the top 10. Otherwise good choices.
reply

I may not be born during this disney era, but I still grew up with these movies and these songs give me so much nostalgia.
reply

For the Hunchback I would've gone with the opening song. As for Hercules, I'd say either 'Go The Distance' or 'Zero To Hero'
reply

It's clear they wanted to put one song out of every movie that was in that period, (except for Beauty and the Beast)
reply

Whoever had the audacity to put Circle of Life as #4 needs to be fired. None of the others hold a candle to it.
reply

I realized that I was born at the start of the Disney's Renaissance era. Little Mermaid came out the year I was born. 1989
reply

Beauty and the beast I do love! Cuz it basically tells us that no matter their human form two opposites can attract.
reply

Beauty and the Beast, the song, was also the first to get a pop version for radio, sung by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson.
reply

Disney Golden Era: back when Disney hired Broadway and Classical Singers for Disney's Songs and not bubblegum pop artists
