I dont like when shows use the cheating trope with main characters or characters that are implied to be together. Its overdone. Cheating is realistic to an extent but not every character has to take part or experience it.
A lot of the times the shows use it just to keep people watching. Maybe find a different way to break people up.

They missed the bar crawl episode where Schmidt tells Cece why Valentines Day is his favourite day and its because that was the first day that they got together. Also at Jesss dads wedding where Schmidt tells Cece that he will always try and make her happy for the rest of his life.
