I didn't like the movie, felt like a lot of charm from the original was just ignored and made the movie lacking.
- In the original they showed her strong feelings to make her family proud that she prayed for the gods. She even wrote on her arm on what to say which made the matchmaker get the ink on her fingers and draw a mustache on herself. Which I can understand it's humiliated for the matchmaker, but this one she tried to kill a dangerous spider and destroyed some porcelain.
- In the original you respected Mulan for her character development when she became stronger and her determination but on the movie she already have skills.
- I'm fine if they don't want to have Shang, a leader romance but they should just remove the romance completely cause it really felt unnecessary
- In the original they built up a friendship with the three guys, Chien-Po, Yao and Ling which made them first join Mulan after she got revealed and she used some features she learnt from her study on the matchmaking but this movie they got convinced straight away. You dishonor us, don't show up again. Okay, lead the way
- WHY IS THERE A WITCH? Felt like her only purpose was just to tell Mulan where the bad guy is
Mulan, the original, is one of my favorite movies so that's why I got sad that the charm I knew it as was completely gone in the movie: (

The good about this movie is. Make people search about Mulan 2009. I watch it years ago n love it so much! It is more more more good than 2020 if you want to watch Mulan live action without the musicals number, Jendral Shang, Mushu, Grandma.
Mulan 2020. just watch it twice (2nd time because I really need English subtitle). N doesn't interested at all it has so many commercial about the premier in Dec 4 in Disney+ & it is free.
I love live action remake from Disney cartoon, like Aladdin, Beauty & the Beast, Cinderella. But Mulan live action, it is destroy my hope. First from trailer, you have high hope. But the actual film. NOT GOOD at all. (Opposite of Aladdin, the trailer you think is not so Good, but the actual movie is Good! ..

9: 13 I thought that new villain looked familiar! That live-action Jungle Book (which, believe it or not, was actually truer to the original novel by Rudyard Kipling) was the one I preferred growing up over the animated one. One reason was because of the vultures. Thanks to the Evil Queens demise in Snow White, the way those vultures descended down afterward, vultures ALWAYS creep me out. Plus the way they smiled when they saw her in her hag form always gave me spine chills and they STILL do. Hardly anything scared me as a kid, yet that was one of the very few exceptions

I truly believe that Mulan 2020 is a genuinely good movie. I just think it wouldve had more depth if the witch had been the main villain. Like she wanted to get revenge on the country that rejected her and was only using the rouran Army to get to the imperial city. This wouldve added to the message that there is good and evil in everyone and how you choose to act on it is what truly defines you. Specially when theres always going to be people who doubt or turn their backs on you.

What I love about the original is the funny Mushu, lucky cute Crickee, being a musical and Mulan goes to war dressed as a man transformation.
When I saw the remake trailer last year, I was upset that its not a musical and no Mushu. But I was wowed how bad ass she did by a newcomer actress and she served it well being loyal, brave and true

There's a reason the 1998 film is a Disney classic. It had heart and told an important story. It broke ground by featuring literally a Disney heroine in combat. We never saw this with Cinderella, Alice, or Belle. Mulan lead the way for Merida, Elsa, Anna, Moana, and Raya to fight with weapons. So points go to the original.

Iconic song are missing. Iconic charaters are missing. Iconic moments are missing. Mulan's point was that she went to the army with zero material arts knowledge and did her best to train herself. Now she is an op fighter with magical powers. This movie is a hollow shell of the original Disney Mulan.

I think live action is really better than original live action no gays no funny and even more different and come on why everybody hating live action? The remake is cool like a pro! I know some of them are remake are not same as original but I really wish remake are better than original.

I was so exited about this movie as Mulan is my favorite Disney movie. Don't do the cinema so waited until it was available on Disney and ended up falling asleep. Only good thing about this movie is Christina Aguilera singing loyal brave true.

I think that most fans focus too much on the differences rather than the reason for said differences, this film, like Cinderella and Aladdin, possesses a perfect balance between being faithful to the animated film and being its own distinctive film

10: 02 SERIOUSLY! I thought Mushu not being there was going to be the number 1 reason! And I also thought Mulan having a sister wouldve had a much higher ranking. Her revealing herself shouldve been a bit lower! What a ripoff!

Instead of Top 10 differences between Mulan (1998) & Mulan (2020, maybe it should be titled Top 10 differences Mulan (2020) is inferior to Mulan (1998) or Top 10 differences Mulan (1998) is superior to Mulan (2020.

It seems like very few people actually know that this new film isn't based on their own version, it's meant to stay more true to the legend of Mulan. Ya know, where the name and story actually comes from

Lately I been enjoying the Disney remakes more, Mulan included. I like how they give the characters more personality and background, the setting more fitting of the times, and more. I have no regrets.

Me before seeing this video: I dont even need to see this video to know Mushu not being there will be number one.
Me after seeing this video: WHAT! No Mushu is NOT the number one reason! 0: 18

I love how they say that 2020 Mulan is the worst but they still watch i mean you just say 2020 mulan is the worst but why you still watching huh?
So your watching a movie which you hate? Lol

Nothing can beat the original, but the live version gives it a new light paying more light on the real story of Mulan, the more mature side of her. Its just a bum that mushu was deleted
reply

Mulan is my favorite movie but the 2020 version with no mushu, no cricket, no grandma, and no general Shang made me angry and sad, the remake is nothing short of horrible.
reply

More differences: Mulans last name was changed from Fa to Hua. And instead of a theatrical release, 2020 Mulan came out on video on demand via Disney+ new Premiere Access.
reply

I think the only thing that they got right was Shang Yu. The rest is just. to disappointing.
it's sad that they removed the songs, the songs were really catchy.

reply

The Live Action remake is beautiful like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and maybe Amazing for those who havent seen or forgotten about the 1998 Animated film.
reply

Something tells me that the Live-Action remake is pretty much just as awesome as its animated version, but even better. I LOVE BOTH OF THEM REGARDLESS!
reply

Stop make that movie sound good when we all know it terrible half of original cast is missing there replacements are terrible just like the movie
reply

3: 44 Um there's another development for another movie yeah I don't think so thanks to the controversially between Disney and Chinese government.
reply

Jeremy in cinema sins was right didn't should just stop love action remake and why did it sound like ms mojo was trying to defend this movie
reply

I think they could have done the live action better, if they didn't remove Mushu and pace the scene better. I thought it was a bit rushed.
reply

Mulan taking the reveal into her own hands is one of the best moments of the remake and the following battle is SOOOO FCKING GOOD!
reply

Woman cutting hair in ancient Chinese history was either when an emperor died or a dynasty ended. So no cutting hair in Mulan 2020.
reply

The difference between 1998 Mulan and the 2020 Mulan for me:
I actually liked 1998 Mulan, not the 2020 sentient plank of wood.

reply

I am more partial to the Animated version of Mulan. The two things that the live action movie were lacking was Music and Mushu.
